I was happy to find something to fit our less-than-traditional decor and could be installed on a sloped ceiling. The house is round and the ceiling is covered to look like a grass thatched roof so we needed something unusual. Most 'tropical' lighting though is too... tacky? Predictable? I wanted something that suggested almost a hand-made quality, but still nice. These lights are casual, sort of distressed & not so reflective (the product photograph has a reflection that makes them look a bit shinier than they really are.) They're sort of nest-like. We also needed lights large enough to hold their own in the large space (32 ft diameter room; I bought 2), and to provide enough general lighting for the couches. I like the diffuser plate on the bottom, but remember to remove the protective covering. Our installer didn't even realize it was supposed to come off so he kept wanting to take the diffuser off because it blocked the light. One note of caution: because of the nest-like exterior, there is high contrast when the light is on in a darkened room (the metal straps appear dark against the bright light). This definitely causes one to notice the lights as opposed to them just blending in quietly. The effect is much softer in the day when the light is not on."..."  Read more

We used outside our bedrooms to light a dark hallway at night. The lights are bright enough to illuminate the hallway but not so much to keep you awake at night if the lights are left on. Absolutely LOVE this pendant. I have it hanging in my foyer in my condo, which has 16 ft celings. This thing makes a statement and is pretty big, so you better know that you have the space for it, otherwise it might look too big in a small space. No complaints whatsoever and at the best price on the web. I researched this for days and wayfair was the only sight to honor an additional 10 off coupon, plus free shipping. I actually found this light in a nice shop in Pittsburgh, PA while just walking around. It was selling for 390, plus shipping....saved a ton of money by buying online!!!"..."  Read more
