About the Designer
Edgar Blazona United States (1971 - )
Edgar Blazona brings more than 16 years of furniture design and manufacturing experience to TrueModern. His deep knowledge of manufacturing, understanding ofMaterials and the modernist aesthetic are the driving force behind TrueModern. Edgar has held senior design and creative positions at William Sonoma, Modular Dwellings, Thinc and the design firm "1994". Praised for its clean lines and impeccable workmanship, Edgar's work has been showcased in galleries, hotels and private collections worldwide including Sweden's Ice Hotel, San Francisco's Limn Gallery and Bergamont Station Arts Center in Los Angeles. Edgar and his designs have been featured in Vogue, Dwell, Paper, Ready Made and Metropolitan Home. In 2003, Edgar joined Thinc, a design firm specializing in consumer products for large retailers, to launch its furniture and hard goods division. Under Edgar's direction as Vice President and Creative Director, Thinc designed major collections for Target, Home Depot, Sears, Walmart, Office Max and Office Depot. By spending much of his time traveling back and forth abroad, he managed the process from design to the finished product in stores today. Prior to joining Thinc, Edgar worked in the product development division at Pottery Barn, where he contributed to design, manufacturing and quality control across several brands including Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen. It was through his work with William Sonoma's manufacturing matrix that Edgar gained a deep understanding of the relationship between design and the manufacturing process that underscores his work today. Edgar cemented his reputation within the modernist design community with the launch of Modular Dwellings, custom, mobile, prefabricated dwellings that elegantly blend form and function for affordable modernist living. In 2004 Modular Dwellings was listed among Metropolitan Home magazine's Top 100 Designs of the year. In the early part of his career, Edgar co-founded "1994", a modernist design firm praised for its clean aesthetic, craftsmanship and accessibility.

This is without a doubt one of the most well-made pieces of furniture I have ever bought. It looks like a piece of art, not just a piece of furniture, yet it is comfy, spacious and very durable! I plan to buy more pieces from this designer in the near future!

Great Mid Century Modern Piece

The sofa is stylish, beautiful, sturdy. I would complement a variety of decor schemes, but looks especially great in my mid-century modern living room.

It's great. Very comfortable. Like the style. Wish I had gone with the lighter finish on the legs, but that was my design fault. Love it.
cracked leg after a year
Jennifer Graves from Los Angeles, CA
I love this sofa. It's beautiful and simple. The guys who delivered it just about a year ago were professional and on time. BUT, the sofa's right leg has started to CRACK. I've never jumped on the sofa. I (nor anyone who's happened to been in my home) is overweight, putting undue pressure on the sofa legs. There is no good reason the leg should be cracking off. I'm really disappointed.

This Sofa has been great so far. The fabric is soft and quite comfortable for such a modern design. We ordered this sofa and within two weeks it was at our door. What we thought was going to be a shipping company turned out to actually be Edgar Blazona the owner and designer of the company TrueModern. He helped me carry it in all the way to the living room. He even asked if he could help move the old one out. I was so surprised to meet the designer not to mention he went out of his way to help us. It was a very pleasant experience buying from allmodern.com. I look forward to buying again.

The sofa is really cool looking except that I wish the fabric quality was a bit higher. It is comfortable, long and deep, good for a nap.
