I looked at lots of train tables and choose this one bc it had the nicest table. Its not too hard to put together, I did it by myself without my Husband but it is heavy so may make it hard for some. My son loves it and he is 2 and I think he will enjoy playing with it for a few years. Lots of pieces (cars, trains, boat, helicopter, air plane, people, and more) and the drawer holds lots of toys not just the train stuff. We have it in the living room and it doesn't look that bad bc its a nice table. The train track and trains and such could be a little nicer but overall we are happy. I purchased this for my grandsons (2-year-old twins and their 1-year-old brother) for Christmas. I am so glad I went with this set over the tabletop train sets with multiple pieces. This is perfect for toddlers and young kids. I especially like the fact that the lid is sturdy, something I was concerned about when I bought it. I was a bit disappointed in the train set that came with it, it's just three tiny wood pieces so I had to buy a larger set to go with it. It also came with three little cars but my grandsons wanted trains not cars. Also it was more of a challenge to assemble that what the description might lead you to believe; the holes and screws to attach the legs did not match up at all and the screws are very long and hard to screw into the plastic. My husband had to do a little drilling to make it all work. Overall, we love this for our little guys but anticipate that in just a couple of years they will be ready for a regular train set, so the age of your children needs to be a factor in deciding what train set to buy."..."  Read more

I have been looking for this item for several months and finally found it for a reasonable price [...] so I snapped it up. It was very easy to assemble - all the pieces were included and all the holes lined up with the hardware necessary for assembly (a rare attribute with self assembly items these days). It looks great and appears to be sturdy and made of good quality. I love the height - it's perfect for my 3 year old. I also like that there is no train/car/neighborhood design permanently on the table top, so it can be used for many things. She can use it for trains, blocks, puzzles, coloring, just about anything. It's Melissa and Doug. Need I say more?! This company rocks every toy they make! And this is no exception. These cars are really cool because five of the six can detach from the wheels and are interchangeable, they fit with the standard wooden tracks, and the cars with the double wheels pivot.
