I have tried a number of different telescoping mirrors over the last 20 years and just found that the glass mirrors break easily, and that the reach or extension of other mirrors were unimpressive. The swivel attachments left much to be desired. However I gave the Carica a shot wondering how the acrylic would hold up under use. I was afraid it would get scratched up easy which would would not give me the clarity of the glass mirrors. I was pleasantly surprised at how clear the mirror is over several months of use on a weekly basis. I have suffered for years with the poor chip ejection of the P12RA planer/joiner. This machine is outstanding in every other way, but I always had to hold a stick whenever I plane soft woods so that I can clear the inevitable clog. This hood assembly is very sturdy, and fits well on the chip chute. There is only one wing-bolt to hold it in place, so it comes on and off easily. The metal is heavy gauge and the paint matches the planer/joiner, which is nice. The 4" output is easy to hook to a vacuum or dust collector. The only thing that prevented me from buying this much earlier is the price. It seemed like a lot of money for what you get. Wayfair had the hood much cheaper than Amazon of the discount tool places on-line, so I thought I would give it a shot. The hood makes a lot of difference in clearing chips, so now I can concentrate on the wood I am working with and stop watching to chip chute!"..." Read more
