Toilet Training

This is really a great tool for teaching boys to pee standing up. It is much easier and safer than having to grab a stool over to the toilet for my son to stand on so he can reach. Ths little urinal is the perfect height so he can use it on his own. It is also small enough to travel with. What I don't like about it is that it does not pour "mess free" into the toilet as described. I just lift the whole thing off and pour out the side instead. You also have to make sure the clip on the urinal is secure on the inside rim of the toilet or you will have a puddle on the floor! My son uses it while the toilet seat is down over the clip, once while lifting the seat to empty the urinal the whole thing fell off the rim and pee spilled all over the floor!! We were looking for a toilet training solution for our main floor guest bathroom, which is not very big. We did not want to store a potty seat and a stool. This product solved the problem perfectly as it provided the step and the seat. My 2.5 year old daughter is totally capable of setting it up, getting on it and putting it away by herself. It stores neatly beside the toilet. This product gave our daughter a lot of confidence and helped her to potty train, so that was a huge reward. The only issue we had was getting it to fit our toilet. We have a Caroma toilet which is tall and elongated. The seat was initially too low on the step structure. We drilled new holes about an inch higher than the originals and then attached the seat to those holes and now it fits perfectly. Potty Scotty is a bit messy, hard to empty, and difficult to dress and undress. But my son really wanted him, so we counted down the days until a "big day," and got potty Scotty as a gift that day to jumpstart potty training. It went perfectly, with pretty much instant success, after months of resistance before then. This potty is bigger than others I tried. My daughter is rather big for her 20 months,this is the potty she can seat comfortably, and I believe she will be able to continue using it comfortably until she is three or four. It has a height adjustment,you can make it higher or lower. It has a sturdy base and my daughter can sit down and get up from it all by herself. Not even once did she tipped it over. She is enjoying her sense of control very much. The seat is soft and nice, my daughter loves to seat on it, which I think is the key to successful potty training. Emptying and cleaning is very easy.
