Overall, very sturdy and well worth the price. I am very happy with the height so when my 22 month old is 5, it's not too short for him. Yes, you must anchor it to wall with 2 screws on the top, follow the instructions. It was very easy to assemble. It is beautiful wood and a very solid pressed board backing - very well thought out design, technically and aesthetically. We got this in Clear. I was so thrilled with this bookcase that I came back to Wayfair and bought the Tidy Books For Get Me Not (whiteboard with knobs for hanging my little man's coats and backpack, also in Clear) -- I do not recommend the For Get Me Not as it is nothing like this bookshelf in quality and workmanship.
