My family just started to look at the stars and we knew nothing about telescopes. The one we bought was far more then what we expected. [...] since we are looking for stronger lens. The only let down was, there should have been a booklet on how to use the product. It's noted as being a great beginners telescope, so it should have something to tell the customer how to use it. We didn't find the DVD helpful, instead we go on Sky Watch web site for info every night as to what to see. They give you more information there. All in all, it's a really nice telescope. I gave this to my nine year-old daughter for her birthday and she loves it. It is easy to use. Within the first half hour of use, she was able to focus on Saturn with the aid of the red spot viewfinder. Every night we are out star gazing. The unit is solid and easy to assemble. It took 30 minutes to put together and the instructions were simple to follow. The only snag was that I did not see the plastic tab over the battery which power the red spot light and took 10 minutes to figure that out. All in all, I'd recommend this telescope."..."  Read more
