I can also use the hot water for making other things like ramen noodles, coffee, etc. Also the best thing about this is that it is has a vacuum option that keeps your water hot at 160. It is very easy to reboil if I need a hotter water. The swivel bottom is very convenient to move it around. The cord is not magnetic though but that is okey. The plate it heats on is not hot to the touch, and the kettle's base isn’t either. The outside does get hot, though. The kettle's base has little feet on it to keep it off the counter, and it auto shuts off when it reaches boiling. The matte black is beautiful, and the shape of the kettle is so cute. It has a gauge on the side to see how hot the water is, and you can also see a minimum/maximum fill line. We’ve been using this daily since we got it, and the silver is holding up beautifully, and the inside isn’t starting to rust, which I love! This kettle is so easy to use.
