I purchased the Bedford Entertainment Stand from Racks & Stands to house A/V components for a multi-media room I built in my formerly unfinished basement. The Stand is well-package with foam and foam sleeves between each piece, but suffered some damage in transit. Fortunately, the damaged pieces were able to be fixed with a little wood glue and black spray paint, and are located in the back or underneath the Stand, so they aren't visible when the Stand is fully assembled. Another thing to note is that the locking cams are made of a white metal that breaks easily if overtightened. Since the cams hold the Stand together, it's important that they be tight for stability. The manufacturer includes extra parts, includng a cam, so you can break one without worry. Assembly was easy, following the manufacturer's diagram, and only required a Phillips screwdriver and a rubber mallet to tap the parts into place. Since the knobs are a focal point, I upgraded the provided knobs with higher-quality knobs from my local home improvement store for $10. There are holes in the lower portion of the back of the Stand for running cable. I'm not sure if I can run cable from the top shelf down through this hole, since the top shelf extends to the back, so it may be necessary to bore holes in the upper portion of the back of the Stand to accomodate cables for top shelf components. Not a big deal. In light of the minor repairs, it took a little more than 2 hours to assemble. Once assembled, the result is a stylish and functional piece of furniture that has the look of furniture costing hundred of dollars more. All things considered, this Stand is a very good value for the money. I bought this product as my tiny tv stand needed to be replaced badly as it was not fitting with the design I was changing my bedroom to and it was succumbing to age and falling apart. Also this price I felt was great considering that this is made of real wood, not cheapy particle board that can`t handle the weight of books, let along a 22in tube tv.I`ve had it built for over 24 hours now and I am quite happy with it. Despite it being come a completely different set, it looks great with my canopy bed and chest. It holds up my tv just fine and handles my big mainecoon-mixed cat jumping up on it. If it passes those tests, then it`s good enough for me!HOWEVER...The cams it comes with are very cheap. They easily warped and snapped. We had to go to [...] and get new ones and replaced every single cam this tv stand came with - I highly recommend doing so before you buy, save yourself trouble! With the cheap ones on, the stand was falling apart with my cat jumping on it. No good if you want to put a large weighted tv on it. With the cams replaced, we were good to go. You would need the 15x12.5 sized cams - check the package size indication of the cam to be sure you get the right size.Another note, if you have carpet on the floor, don`t try to move the stand very much unless you are strong enough to lift this heavy item up off the carpet. We were moving the stand from the carpet piece I had (which covers half my floor) to the non-carpet area and the support leg (it goes on the bottom of the stand in the middle to give extra support of the weight it would sustain) snapped off at the screw so it`s beyond repair. This isn`t an issue for me since I don`t plan on putting a 60in tv on this or pile a bunch of stuff so for me personally, I can go without the support leg, but someone else may need that.To sum up, the only problems this had was that the cams should be replaced and don`t try to move this across the carpet unless you are able to lift it completely off the carpet. Otherwise, you`ll be golden and would be happy with this piece. I do recommend this product but keep caution of those cams! I rarely write reviews, but this TV Stand warrants the effort and deserves my time. Fits great & looks great in the corner - the corner space is not wasted because the product has nice depth. Currently have 50" Plasma (48" overall width) sitting on it. My TV is a bit too wide because it cannot be swiveled/angled without hitting the walls. The TV doesn't hang over the ends of the stand, so it still looks nice. My plan is to mount the TV on the wall (using a full motion mount) above the Stand anyway. Regardless, the 45° angle is fine for viewing throughout the room. You will need longer HDMI/Video cables than the standard 6' or you will have to drill additional holes in the back of the unit for full functionality. I couldn't put my DVR or DVD player on the top shelf because my cables aren't long enough and the only hole accessing the back of the unit is on the bottom. I plan to just get the longer cables because I don't want to drill more holes in this beautiful stand (although it is certainly sturdy enough to accommodate several more holes)."..."  Read more

Spent a lot of time searching for a flat screen tv stand (finally bought my first flat screen, a 46" Toshiba). Noticed that most were below 30" in height and less than 50" in width, which I didn't want. Really wanted something that looked like a piece of furniture and not just a tv stand. Came across this one and I was sold. For the price, you can't beat it. Once I received it, didn't take too long to assemble it. So far I'm am satisfied. There is a very SLIGHT sagging in the middle where the tv sits, but it is almost imperceptable. Otherwise, stand seems to be very sturdy. Enough room on each side of tv to put a couple of vases with small floral arrangements. Happy with purchase."..."  Read more
