Cottage/Country style is generally exemplified by feminine furniture, muted colors, milk-paint finishes and vintage fabrics. Soft, muted colors showing the wear of time. Flea markets and Grandma's attic are the perfect spots for finding items for this style. Pieces with straight lines, painted finishes and very little ornamentation. Best Purchase I Made, next to my dog.

Sharon from Port Orford, OR– Verified Buyer

When it arrived the Fed X man commented on how heavy it was...That was the first indicator of the quality of this product. Indeed it is excellent. All pieces and screws accounted for and right. I ordered black because I want it for both kitchen and living room. My place is two rooms and this is just what I need. It doubled my counter space and my cupboards both. The wheels have brakes, and they are sturdy. I will easily move it back and forth between the rooms. It is big. But it fits perfectly...Like a God send. In the kitchen it works as a eating bar. I'll get stools. And in the living room I can sit with my laptop, and position it for me to face the window and view of the ocean, while working on the fold out. A handsome well built sturdy piece, Assembly was without incident, and no explicatives. I watched as Paul put it together...took about 3 hours, I was happy to pay for the help. [ i could have done it, but being 70 and alone...why] I couldn't be more pleased. The price and free shipping were well worth it. I couldn't have afforded such a nice Cart without your sale. This really made my day.... sooooo blessed. I believe God had a hand in this purchase. Delivered on the exact day. I will be doing my shopping at Wayfair in the future. Thank you all and thank You Jesus.

Very sincerely,,,,Sharon Tallmadge

What you'd expect for the price

Sarah from Boston, MA– Verified Buyer

Pros and Cons:

Pros:
Cheapest product of this size on the market
Easy to put together (I am an average-sized woman and it took me 2 hours to put it together alone)
Sturdy when assembled
Drawers slide in and out easily

Cons:
Red back-panels are a different tone of red than the rest of the product
Not all the screws were good (one of them was missing the hole in the head, so I had to use a pliers to screw it in)
Screws are easy to double-thread/screw in at an angle due to variations in alignment
Knobs on cabinet doors are at noticeably different heights
Mechanism to hold up breakfast bar is not attached (it's just two bars you slide under the joint)

If price were not a factor, I'd probably give this cart 3 out of 5 stars. However, it is the cheapest kitchen island cart of this size w/ breakfast bar I could find online. Since I am on a budget, and move frequently, I would probably make this purchase again but in white instead of red due to the coloration difference. If you are looking for a permanent fixture in your home for 3+ years, I would suggest getting a nicer product.

Exactly what I had been looking for!

Debbie from The Villages, FL

Ordered this in red for my villa kitchen. Delivered right on time right to my door. Arrived in perfect condition with all pieces included. I am very pleased with the quality of this product. It did take awhile to assemble but instructions were very easy to follow. Only problem experienced was with the cam locks. I had to consult a friend because I couldn't quite figure out the diagram provided. But it was very simple after he explained how they work. Overall I am extremely pleased with this and would recommend it, By the way I am a 65 year old female and my assistant with this project was my 82 year old mother. GIRLS ROCK!!

I love it!

Rachel from Santa Barbara, CA– Verified Buyer

I am rearranging my small kitchen and needed more counter space. This was perfect. Arrived fairly quickly and one I put it together it looks very nice.
Pros:
~True to size. Without the towel or spice rack attached it's about 40-42 inches wide.
~Easy slide drawers
~Bright white color with natural top that has a nice shine
~Wheels are smooth
~Drop leaf lays flat when flipped up
~Large shelves inside. I can fit my mixer on the bottom self with cookie sheets and nesting mixing bowls on the top.

Cons:
~Came with 1 corner of a door chipped during shipping but I took it's hardly noticeable unless yu look for it.
~Took about 4 hours to put together myself. I would suggest doing it with 2 people next time.
~The knobs didn't fit. They were too short and the pre-drilled holes were twice as large as the screw. A few metal washers solved that problem.
~The drawers don't slide out all the way

Disappointing product

William from Hooksett, NH– Verified Buyer

Granted, this isn't a 4-figure piece of furniture but at roughly $300 (before discounts) I expected MUCH better quality than this provided. I'm afraid one must drill through a fairly lengthy laundry list of issues to understand why I've reviewed this so poorly.

We ordered the red cart so perhaps the other colors don't have this same issue. Every single panel had flaws in the finish. Some of those could be hidden when the panel could be assembled with either side out. However, all the drawer carcasses (all but the front panel) were not painted red but some hideous shade of hot pink. At least it isn't visible unless the drawers are open.

The top is made of many small pieces of wood finger jointed together. That would be fine except they didn't sand off all of the filler used to cover the haphazard joinery. There's an irregularly shaped area about 25mm x 150mm (1" x 6") of filler that absolutely ruins the look of the butcher-block top. I will be requesting a replacement after submitting this review.

Another item that must be replaced is one of the sides of the spice rack. It appears to have some sort of vinyl finish which was broken and pulled off during manufacturing. Related to this, the spice rack can not even be installed without either modifying it or the end of the base. The mounting holes are too high so if the rack is in place the top is held off the base by 4-5mm (nearly 1/4").

Back to the drawers. The glides for the bottom drawer were installed in the wrong position during manufacturing. It made the drawer very low on the left side and severely out of line with the other drawers. New mounting holes had to be carefully drilled because they didn't use the slotted-hole positions. That made simple adjustments impossible.

The hinges for the front doors are extremely cheap and, again, not attached in the proper positions during manufacturing. Notice on the web site pictures of any of the three color options that the doors aren't even close to aligning. That's what you should expect and, hopefully, you know enough woodworking to be able to correct for it. However, even after the doors are aligned, the knobs will NOT be. There's no easy fix for that. One would have to fill the original hole in one door, drill a new countersunk hole in alignment with the other door and somehow touchup the paint to disguise the repair. One might wonder, why countersunk? It's because rather than use a screw long enough to go through the door frame, they countersunk the hole so a shorter, and cheaper, screw could be used.

The sticks (aka: "supports") for the drop leaf are like an afterthought. The only way for them to lock the leaf level with the main top is to put them in backwards and upside down. Then the small square glued to the stick wedges the leaf up and level. The stick must be pulled completely out, turned over and slide back in for storage when the leaf is down. But with the stick in backwards then the finger-grip slots are inside the cabinet. Like I said, they appear to have been an cheap afterthought as opposed to using actual drop-leaf hardware.

Bottom line. This cart has done nothing but reinforce my opinion that products manufactured in China lack even the most basic degrees of pride in workmanship, quality control and meaningful inspection. I could not recommend this product to anyone who expected good quality at this price level.

A final tip. Should you still decide to purchase this cart then have a roll of 2" painters' tape available. It's invaluable for holding the various rails, stiles and panels in place during the assembly process. Otherwise you'll have the same problem others have noted: a need for 6-8 hands to hold it all together until the fasteners go in and cinch it into one assembly.

Thrilled!

Rachel from Hilliard, OH– Verified Buyer

I couldn't be more pleased! I worried that the butcher block was thin, cheap and would have sharp corners, by the picture. My worried were completely unfounded! It's 2cm (kitchen counters are or look like 3cm) and the edges are eased. The color is more primary than the picture showed on my screen, which turned out to be a perfect match, to my red painted walls! My husband put it together without any complaints. The drawers are nice and deep! This is my third purchase from Wayfair and I'm now a customer for life!

White Kitchen Cart

Lisa from Fayetteville, NC– Verified Buyer

This is a beautiful cart and it looks wonderful in my kitchen that has light brown cabinets. I would give this cart 5 stars, but gave only 4 for two reasons-- 1. It was very difficult to put together. My husband is good at building things and has put together several pieces of furniture but this was difficult for him and took around 2.5 hours. Be sure to have a handy helper (it took us both holding pieces to put it together) and some time. 2. I have a little one and it would be difficult to make this child friendly. Luckily he hasn't messed with it too much, but the handles are small so it's impossible to put one of those external latches on it without possibly scratching it. We are going to put the internal latches on the inside just so he doesn't have an urge to pick up any glass bowls that are inside of it. The same for the drawers, you'd have to drill inside to put the latches on the inside. All and all though I really love it. When we move again (we are military) I plan on using this as a craft table and think it'll be excellent for that use as well! We will just put the drop leaf into a permanent up position with some "L" brackets" for safety concerns of it possibly falling-- although it seems pretty sturdy for the occasional usage right now.

Love my cart!

Linda Rettig from Holgate, OH– Verified Buyer

I was a little concerned with the reviews that said how hard it was to put together but really needed the space so ordered it anyway. My husband and I put it together in 3 hrs with only one or two times when we were really confused. A couple of the numbers on the pieces had come off so it took us a couple of minutes to find those. Overall, not hard to put together, just more complex than we are used to.

I have had several nice comments about the versatility (it rolled into the dining room to help with Thanksgiving dinner for 20) and size. There is one place that has a ding but very small - can paint over it later. Also, the one place the hardware was already installed didn't work well. The doors are not quite together and not even - will have to adjust later when we do some painting.

Pros: Work space on top, back 'flip up' shelf expands this space to help with either serving or working, cabinet/drawer space for storage, paper towels and spices available at the time I am doing prep. Love the wheels so I can move and lock it easily.
Cons: One ding in the paint and the doors are not even.

Perfect for the price!

Cyndee from Vestaburg, MI– Verified Buyer

Took my husband and I about 2 12 to put together. Little difficulty with attaching the leaf as the screw holes for the hinges didn't line up perfectly. We left off the wheels to make it look more like a permanent island. Height is still good. Drawers don't pull out very far so you kind of have to reach back into them a little to get to the back. The cupboard shelf is optional and adjustable so we can leave it out to fit the trash can inside. Packaged securely so no damage when it arrived. Overall we love it. It was a great option for our price range.

Excellent Value

Rosemary from Warrenton, OR– Verified Buyer

To get a similar cart, at IKEA, I would have had to spend over $500. It was easy to put together. Although the wooden top is not a true butcher block, it looks as good. With the leaf up, there is plenty of leg room while sitting on a stool. My stools were bar height but easy enough to cut them down to the proper height. I especially love the 3 roomy drawers on the right side. Now I can have a casual and a formal dining area. When I am not cooking and want to sit to eat, it rolls right up to the sliding glass door where I can watch the pond with the ducks and geese. Truthfully, I was amazed at how sturdy and well crafted it is. While not a top end product, it is great value for the money and it will last. 178 lbs of free shipping too!!!
