It was an absolute breeze to put together, and the mechanism for the leaf was a stroke of genius. We had a Parsons style table before, and if the humans in the house werent constantly bumping table legs, the dogs enjoyed charging them at high speed (which is why they gave out two weeks before Thanksgiving). I looked at several tables before I found this one which is 4 inches narrower and 12 inches shorter. I also wanted oak on a pedestal. This table was perfect ahas really made a difference in getting around the table. It is not fine furniture but is very nice. Everyone comments on how well the oak matches the cabinets and how well the table size works in this area. Also this site had the table for 115 less and no shipping costs. Very good deal. I can tell you that by the feel of the weight of it it should be a very sturdy table. It is very heavy, I was surprised by its weight and pleased.
