Swing-n-Slide Ready to Build Custom Kodiak DIY Swing Set Hardware Kit
My kids LOVE it!!
Ben from Central, AR– Verified Buyer
I bought this kit, and was VERY optimistic about how easy it was to set up. I went together so smoothly that I honestly thought I must be doing something wrong. It took most of the day on Saturday and a few hours on Sunday to complete, but we were also dealing with a sloping yard. However, even in an ideal yard, I am not 100% sure that it could be completed in the suggested 4-6 hours.
sturdy, good quality and value

I read a ton of reviews on playsets and saw some display models and if you are/have someone that is handy with tools then I'd say any of the swing-n-slide DIY playset kits are the way to go for a number of reasons. 1 - 4x4 construction insures the playset will hold many kids as well as adults without worry/breakage (the slide being the exception) and you get to buy your own boards so the quality of the wood is known (kits that come with boards precut tend to either have cheap/easily broken wood or the wood is already dried out). 2 - Reviewers rarely complain about any missing parts in the kit (which is not the case with other kits I looked at, especially those with precut wood - the odds are not in the buyers favor for complete kits with those). 3 - The vast majority of reviewers say the instructions are easy to follow with only a few hiccups (again, not the case with competing DIY kits). My husband put this together almost entirely by himself over 4 days (I helped by holding some things in place in the beginning stages and he got the neighbor boys to help lift the 4x6 swing beam into place), so if he had more help, I'm sure it would have gone together faster (plan on dedicating an entire weekend to it). 4 - The DIY kits are the best value for your dollar. The wood cost us about $400 so with wood, screws, slide and extra climbing rocks (we plan to add other swings or rings later to 'freshen' it up) the total cost was under a grand. To get a playset of this size/quality precut/built, you will have to shell out much more.
Just as pictured...just not what I needed (my fault)

I am having a play-set built and the contractor told me to purchase these. After searching everywhere, Wayfair had the cheapest price. They arrived within a day or two after I placed my order and look exactly like the picture/the product information is spot on. The only reason we are not going to be able to use them is because we made some changes to where the swings are going to go and these will no longer be necessary. If this is what you need, I would recommend this product. Take my advice and save yourself some time...buy on Wayfair!

Playset is great. Directions were easy to follow with only very minor misprints (2). I bought lumber from local lumber yard for [$]. Total playset price was about $900 (built ladder, I did not buy the rock mountain). I researched many playsets and did not like the lumber that was included and felt it would not withstand 3 boys under 5 playing on it. The 512 set is solid as a rock and have no worries about its durability. I cut the lumber the day before we started construction (directions were right on). Spent about 6-7 hours on a Saturday and then a few hours throughout the week to finish. In total, it took about 12-14 hours for construction (add about 3-4 hours for cutting lumber).

Slide was as expected. Works well for the basement fort I built for a 5-year-old. It's a little steep but that's my fault cause the platform is a little higher than it should be. Still connected fine to platform but I couldn't use the hardware provided. Needed to buy longer screws (the 3/4" long screws provide will probably not work in most instances - something to keep in mind).
fun & fast slide

Purchased for our kid's (2 and 3 year olds) new playhouse and they love it! It is a pretty fast slide so it took a few tries for them to learn to stop at the bottom without flying off and landing on their bottoms. It could stand to be a little stronger so it doesn't bend when they slide down. Will be adding a wood support underneath just case it can't handle bigger kids.
Sturdy, but short

I build swing sets (The-Honey-Do-Man.com). I wish these were a little bit longer. I use a 4x6 beam, and they just make it to the surface. You can't use the nut that comes with it unless you counter-bore. I use a tap nut, which is not provided (they reach into the hole). But otherwise, these are strong. Uncle Edgar could ride this swing.
This slide is a great value!

We bought this for a secret escape hatch out of the kids play fort. It's a little shorter (I.e. steeper)than I would have preferred but it's sturdy (even with no additional support) and the kids (aged 5, 7, 9) all love it! Very smooth so they can fly down it! And it was the best price I could find for this quality, so I'd definitely recommend it!

I bought this slide for my 2 year old granddaughter. The price was excellent, much less than what I was able to find in stores locally. I love the yellow color because it matches the rest of the swing set. I gave this four stars only because the screws that came with it were not quite long enough. I picked up some from a local hardware store that worked perfectly.

This kit was great. We bought this for our 2 year old grandsons birthday. The instructions were easy to follow. The wood purchase list was accurate. It took about a day and half to put together with two people working. Probably could have finished in a day. Grandson loves it!
