works as advertised .. for a while

Originally I really loved this bird feeder. It holds a huge amount of seed (sunflower w/ shell on is all that works) and the birds just love it. The problem is the squirrels. It took a while for them to figure out how to defeat it. Once they did they told all their friends. I've relegated it to a squirrel feeder now. Plus the raccoons knocked it out of the tree, bending it. At least it is made of quality metal so I could fix it ... again and again.

Made well really like it bust think the perch should be bigger, cardinals have a hard time staying on it.
Love the color, design is ok.

The red color is super cute! The birds have started using this feeder on day one. As another reviewer pointed out, this feeder collapses when not suspended, so it's an odd design & tough to fill. Seed spilled out all over while I was trying to fill it (granted, I wasn't using only sunflower seeds, so that may be the only seed to use in this feeder to prevent that messy problem). As with all my other feeders, the raccoons discovered this feeder on night one, so it was nearly empty the next morning. *sigh* I love feeding the birds, but I'm tired of feeding the four-legged wildlife.
Hard to fill

Only complaint is that you can not hold it to fill it because you also have to lift the top, and if you put it down it collapses. It's like a two person job. Otherwise it's great.

Birds love to feed from this colorful feeder. Holds lots of feed and will not get wet. Easy to fill with a slip lid that locks and will not rust.
