About the DesignerJulie Cohn Julie Cohn is owner and creative director / designer for her own multi-disciplinary product firm Two Women Boxing and surface design firm Julie Cohn Design. Based in Dallas, she specializes in the development of products for a broad range of companies that produce home-related accessories, stationery, gifts, carpets, rugs, wallcovering and table top. In 1997, Julie assumed ownership of Two Women Boxing, the company she co-founded in 1983 with late partner Linda Finnell. The studio was formed by the two artists to preserve the craft of fine bookbinding and box making. For 12 years they designed and hand manufactured a wholesale product line for the stationery industry. In addition, she collaborates with designer Merle Lindby-Young under the name Design2 which specializes in the design of carpets, rugs and wallcovering for the contract industry. Her wide range of projects include edition prints for InterContinental, contract wallcoverings for LSI , DesignTex, and Arc-Com, contract carpet for Bolyu, art for the W Hotel Condominiums in Dallas, and carpet for select hotels around the country. Julie is a 1978 graduate of Kansas City Art Institute with a BFA in painting and printmaking as well as a 1983 MFA graduate of Southern Methodist University.
