CSN was kind enough to replace it and the replacement has the same problem. This time it has no resistance at all. cdemetro from Knoxville, TN	4.0 4/8/2011 Good Machine - Takes Some Getting Use To Product Review The machine is easy to assemble and really works your body really well. My wife and I only have one problem, and am glad to say after spending the money it's just us using the elliptical on a regular basis. The machine does have a shorter stride than the gym elliptical and compares to riding a bike standing up, but does what it is suppose to do and that is get your heart rate up. Service Review The delivery was fast once we dealt with CSN directly, instead of Sears.com. They lost our order and made us wate two weeks to get our money back. For the good points, [...] All parts were present, good written instructions, and tools, but I suggest real wrenches for the job (this is usually the case across the board in having to assemble large products).As for the product, it is built of heavy materials, and has nice finishing touches, but don't expect a gym quality piece of equipment. [...] but it is what it is. I can't run "full throttle" on this like the one at the gym, which I'm sure costs thousands more. If you can't spend thousands (like me), go back to the gym (as I am). My stride at the gym running full throttle is over 4,000 in 30 minutes. On this elliptical, running at same speed, or I should say, TRYING, got me only 1,000, which means I got about 1/3 of my normal workout at the gym. It also feels wobbly once on it, like I'm going to topple over. If you're living in snowbound areas and are desperate, purchase. If not, go (back) to the gym. Service Review Super prompt shipment.
