LOVE this COMPOSTER!!! from Mount Holly, NC on 11/20/2014 – Verified Buyer
There is nothing in this review that can be bad! I was thrilled at the quality of the barrel and the assembly was easy to do and the written instructions with pictures made it a snap. I kept repeating while my husband was putting it together, "I love this composter!" I can't wait till spring to get my hands in the rich soil this is going to create for me. The lid seemed hard to remove until you figured it out , then it comes on and off so easily. It is large but since it turns there won't be any more trouble trying to turn that soil at the bottom of the barrel. I'm going to anchor mine on cinder blocks so it will be elevated off the ground in order to get my wheel barrel under the composter when I want to dump it. It does come with spikes though, if you choose to anchor it right to the soil.

very sturdy and well made! Intelligently designed!!
I didn't have it sooner! :(

Good product, but challenging to assemble from Solon, OH on 03/24/2015 – Verified Buyer
It is a very nice product, except for the difficulty in assembling it. Even for someone with lots of tools and experience, some of the nuts and bolts are incredibly difficult. A slight design change would have made a big difference there. Customer service suggested holding the bolt with pliers while tightening-- a near impossible task due to the tight space. The unit arrived with some missing parts, but replacements were sent out promptly. Once assembled, the unit is easy to rotate.

Pros: Drum is easy to rotate
Cons: Challenging to assemble, due to some bolts that turn freely while the nut is tightened (extremely difficult to hold it secure in the tight space). Other nut/bolt combos in unit take much force to tighten too.

seems to be working already from Napa, CA on 10/11/2014 – Verified Buyer
The tumbler holds quite a bit of material from the kitchen. I can see it will take quite a while to fill it up. The assembly is a little tedious because of all the bolts holding it together but doable. I would recommend NOT placing this unit directly on the ground as the chrome plating is extremely thin and the metal stand will rust easily. I put wood blocks under it or bricks would work equally as well. I would locate it over a dirt area as the thing drips brown goo sometimes. That is a little messy and tends to run down the outside which means you will get some on your hands when you are turning it over. The lid is a little difficult to open and requires a firm push and pull at the same time to open or close. My wife is unable to open it. I will have to make a tool to make it easier. I think if it the lids had a better means to get a good grip it would be easy to open and close.

Perfect from San Antonio, TX on 06/03/2015 – Verified Buyer
My husband is creating a massive garden and wanted a compost. I didn't want an open compost and thought this would be perfect so I bought it for a birthday present. It was easy to assemble and works great.

Pros: Great value and easy to assemble
Cons: As we start the compost inside, there are a lots of knats, etc when the lid is opened.

Great Composter from Beaufort, SC on 12/31/2014 – Verified Buyer
Big and easy to assemble. A bit tough to open lids at first, but better over time and has locks too. Strong and durable and stays out in the open. Great addition for soil generation for new plants in greenhouse. Best composter available on the market, you will be shocked at the value.

composter from San Diego, CA on 04/07/2015 – Verified Buyer
Arrived on time and with all parts.Easy to assemble except for attaching barrel to cram. Hard to fully tighten carrige bolts (parts CC and GG) slide lock sleeve. My neighbor saved the day with his better eqipped tool box. Note too that you'll need a crescent wrench and 9/16 wrench which aren't supplied. Once assembled, looks and works as advertised. Locking cover takes some muscle to open and close which is less convient than expected.

Great value, matches description from Arvada, CO on 11/04/2015 – Verified Buyer
This composter looks nice, is sturdy and durable, and fits a significant volume of composted materials. It can get pretty heavy to turn if you don't empty it regularly. My wife has a little difficulty unlocking the lid, and it doesn't seem to loosen up at all, so I just make sure to be the one to take out our compost waste. Overall I am very happy with this composter.

Pros: Great value, better than the other items I was considering for the same purpose
Cons: This composter was a little difficult to assemble - took a little more time than I expected

1 year and going strong from hamilton, MI on 09/06/2015
Bought this last summer and still love it. Turns well, no rust or breakage. The lid is a little difficult to remove when adding items, but with all the scrumptious decomposition inside you really do want it to stay on when turning! So while it is difficult, I guess I wouldn't want it to easily come off either. My only regret is I didn't by a double, or two of these, so I can have a batch brewing and one I still add too.

Pros: Sturdy
Cons: None

as advertised from Winthrop, WA on 10/12/2015 – Verified Buyer
This composter arrived promptly...well packed....with all of it's parts. A little commonsense combined with the assembly instructions and about 45 minutes and it was ready to use. It is awkward to put household garbage into it on a daily basis...but perhaps that will improve as I become more familiar with its usage.

Pros: good value, well made
Cons: lid removal to add material is very tight...but must be to prevent leakage

Working well from Winter Park, FL on 11/13/2011 – Verified Buyer
It was rather difficult for me to put together by myself. There were a lot of little bolts and for some reason there is a place on the base part that the holes dont line up so I was unable to bolt together. But it is fine, it doesnt compromise anything.
Once together, it seems like it is a good quality tumbler. I am working on my first load of compost full of leaves and kitchen scraps and the leaves are breaking down fast. I have been turning it every other day.
Im sure it will be great for my garden where we have naturally sandy soil.
