This little suitcase is a gem! I traveled with it for two weeks in England. I had a tote, and this- and I did great! If you are going on a weekend or 3-5 day trip it is absolutely perfect. It was in and out the airport, the underground, escalators, motels, B & B's. Unlike my previous spinner (Samsonite- which cost more, & fell forward all the time, even without the extended part filled) this suitcase was perfectly balanced. Not once did it fall forward. All spinner suitcases roll better on hard floors, than carpet, and this was no exception. It fit in overhead easily in the planes. The only improvements that I wish it had were bigger and stronger zippers & a little more room. These zippers held up fine, but they caused me some worry. Good buy!"..."  Read more

Bought the 3-piece set of this collection about 6 years ago from here in Silver. Liked it so much, we bought a second set for my husband in Black. We have been to Europe, Tahiti twice, numerous trips across the US, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii and several cruises that did not require us to fly. The luggage has held up well until our last trip, when the large piece of the black set became cracked so am replacing that suitcase. Have had other, more expensive pieces that did not hold up as well. I always put a strap horizontally around the luggage, as much to be able to locate it as to reinforce it so don't know if that has helped, but have never had a problem with the zippers. Have brought wine back from several countries, never broken anything packed inside. PROS: lightweight, spinner wheels make movement easy, lots of room. CON: It is so lightweight, it is easy to overload, (invest in a hand-held scale unless you want to pay excess baggage fees.)"..."  Read more

I bought this luggage in pink and boy did it stand out! Traveled to Jamaica from Canada, it did take quite a beating. Lots of marks and scrapes, but whadaya expect, it is luggage after all. It hold A LOT, so be careful when packing or you end up with a super heavy suitcase. On the bright side, the 4 wheels made it a breeze to glide around, so no tiring long walk hauling a heavy suitcase behind you. The fabric that separates the top half from bottom didn't hold up well, it ripped from just one trip. Also, every time I had to open when it was full, my items would fly out of the sides...would be better if I had some packing cubes I think. All in all, great suitcase."..."  Read more

I travel approximately 2-3 weeks every two months and to developing countries - so the more demanding routes, so to speak. In the past, I used several "top of the line" soft-cover Samsonite products for several years, but the zippers kept tearing apart and was frustrated with having to spend about $300 every three years. So I finally took the plunge and bought a hardcase to see how it would perform. Being Rimowa, with its stature and price, I expected a lot. At first, I was awed by the appearance upon arrival - glistening and everything. But after my first trip overseas, it lost one wheel cover and had several dents - which made my heart sink. But reading the other reviews beforehand, I understood that this was to be interpreted as 'character' and to move on - which I did. In subsequent trips the dents were fewer, so I realized that the first trip was not a trend and I got use to the occasional dent or scrape. Perhaps the most valuable lesson I learned was to pack more efficiently. The suitcase almost begs you to do this, and if you do it right, the amount you can pack is wildly efficient and compact. I'm absolutely positive that I can pack more into this 32" than I could in the 32" Samsonite which was 1.5x thicker in depth. I am now on my third trip with the Rimowa and can attest to its sturdiness. I sometimes worry about the plastic locks on a metal suitcase, but nothing has happened yet. It isn't until you own a hardcase, with a few nibs and knobs on the outside that get clipped off during transit, that you realize how hard the handlers are on these cases. But the Rimowa has stood up fairly well. All in all I'd recommend the Rimowa - if it lasts about 10 years given the price - and please note I'm still in my first year."..."  Read more
