Great Value! from Sugar Land, TX on 11/18/2013 – Verified Buyer
I love this crib...amazing quality for the price. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the HORRIBLE instuctions. For something that is supposed to last you at least 3 years... the instruction manual might as well have been written in Chinese. The instruction was just two sheets of paper with pictures, not a lot of text. My husband couldn't put it together so he hired a carpenter. The carpenter was able to but it took him EIGHT hours to figure it out, and when he finally did it wasn't correct. We can't seem to figure out how to make level of the matress adjustable...so basically the mattress is at the lowest level and we can't seem to figure out how to move it up. We contacted Storkcraft to see if we and they told us to email them pictures which we did, they admitted that it might be a manufacturing issue but the issue hasn't been resolved. We're going to buy an extra mattress/bedspring to make it higher. Despite all the drama...it is a bang for your buck! Everyone who comes to the nursery always comments on how nice it is and are usually shocked when we tell them how much it is. Hope this helps.

Versatile, Attractive, and Sturdy from Beaver Falls, PA on 10/29/2014 – Verified Buyer
I just finished putting this crib together, and it's beautiful. I ordered one with the white finish. The instructions were a little bit confusing, and the pieces aren't labeled with little stickers the way that most "assembly required" furniture is, but there is a list of all of the parts and what they look like inside the instruction book. And with a little bit of intuition, it's not too hard to figure out. Took me about 3 hours to put it all together. The only reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars is because I'm not sure about the base of the changing table (the part the baby will be laying on). It's not real wood, and it's not very solid. I'm not sure what it's called, but it's similar to the board that usually lines the back of a bookshelf. It's sturdy enough to not bend easily, but it just sits in a track, basically, and I'm a little bit nervous about how it will hold up with a squirmy baby laying on it. Would have rather seen a solid wood board, screwed in, or with a couple of support beams under it. But I think it will be okay! I'm happy to see the crib comes with a pad for the changing table, to make it extra comfy for the babe. All I need now is a mattress! :-)

What a Beautiful Crib for a Great Price! Score! from Wilmington, CA on 12/23/2014 – Verified Buyer
After having been laid off, the hunt for quality and affordable baby items became even more serious. We saw many cribs at different baby merchandise stores, with many that seemed low quality and over priced. We have a smaller room, so we're specifically looking into a crib with a built in changer to help make the most of our space. Many of the cribs we saw in person that were potential buys were actually mini cribs, as the standard size cribs seemed flimsy and the changers and shelving appeared to be made of particle board. I had never purchased anything online, especially not furniture so I was a little hesitant, but since everything in-store was unsatisfying I decided to give it a try. I came across Wayfair.com and after some research found the Portofino and fell in love. While my research lasted a couple more weeks, the Portofino stayed top of mind over other brands and styles. Finally we made the decision to make the purchase, I decided to buy over the phone since I had some size questions, including the changing pad size which is a little smaller and unique than most standard changer pad sizes. I haven't decided if I'm going to try and buy a new one quite yet. The sales associate was amazingly helpful and called me back twice to confirm some questions I had. She helped me make the purchase over the phone and was very informative on their return policy. Once the crib arrived, in its perfect box, we gave it a good look through and were very impressed by the quality of the wood. I haven't noticed any blemishes in the crib, we absolutely love the color and are thankful we opted for the standard size. While we haven't found out the gender of our baby, the color will work great for either boy or girl bedding and color schemes. Even though the original price was already lower than all other competitors, we were able to purchase the crib at an even more discounted price thanks to the holiday season. I'm excited to use this crib through the stages of my babies growth. Good luck with your search and feel safe in knowing this is a great buy!

bought as gift and it's nice from Baldwin Park, CA on 01/29/2015
I bought this for my daughter. It was sent to her in two days, great service. I saw it put together and it's really nice. It's a really pretty cherry color and solid. The side cabinet/changing table looks great. It doesn't come with the mattress; separate purchase. My daughter picked out one like this at Target, and I bought this one for the same price and better quality from here. I heard it was easy to put together, except the instructions missed one part about attaching the front main bar that's at the top had just two dowels on the side and it wasn't clear how it was to be attached, from what my son in law said, so watch out when it comes to that part and be careful. Other than that, a nice product and very happy with the purchase.

Great fit for our small nursery from Raleigh, NC on 03/24/2015 – Verified Buyer
We haven't actually used the crib yet, but the product seems very well made and wasn't difficult to put together. It does take an hour or two with two people, but the instructions are pretty good. I was worried the crib might be damaged when it arrived because the box was pretty torn up (probably from trying to drag it up the steep driveway to the door), but everything was in great condition - no damage or scratches! The wood is soft, and we put a good scratch in it while putting it together, but it's on the back and not noticeable. I read that there could be a chemical smell and was concerned, but the crib materials themselves seem odorless (we did open the windows to air things out just in case). The packaging did have an odor, but we removed that quickly, and all seems fine. The changing table pad does seem thin, but I'm not sure how important that will be. Overall, we're excited to start using the crib! Pros: Easy to assemble; convenient design; sturdy product
