This chair works perfectly for my granddaughter. The strap keeps her from sliding out of the chair. My older grandson also sits in it, so it is sturdy. When I first looked at it, I thought it might not be as sturdy as I had hoped, but it seems to do the job.

We like the little ones to participate in the cameraderie of eating together, to have their feet on the floor, to feel secure and safe. We like that they cannot get up and walk about with food in their mouths so they develop the habit of sitting whilst eating - courteous and respectful.

This chair is exactly what I needed to keep my very busy 18 month old still. Just long enough so I can take a breather and actually get something done. She sits in it to watch TV and I don't have to worry that she has now gotten up and is wandering around the entire house. She does other activities safetly strapped and at her level such as eating, coloring, playing with clay, arts and crafts,etc. Great buy...the only bad thing I could think is that it is a bit pricey for a chair...but its a chair that will last through all my future kids because it is very easily cleanable and sturdy.
