The Amia™ chair was designed by the Steelcase Design Studio in collaboration with industrial designer, Thomas Overthun of IDEO. A very similar collaboration between Steelcase and IDEO resulted in the best selling Leap® chair in 1999 and the Leap WorkLounge in 2001. The Amia chair's shared origin with these products includes the ergonomic principles of Alive Seating™ technology, which first appeared in the Leap chair. Alive™ Seating technology supports natural movement of the body, and led to the Amia chair's LiveLumbar™ feature.

Very good I had the same chair at home that my office ordered for me since I have back and shoulder pains. I like this chair so much that I order one for my home office use. |

Ahhhhhh....Love My Amia I have become a regular customer of Wayfair for household furnishings. They have never disappointed me, and the most recent purchase has been no exception. I have needed a new desk chair for quite some time, and finally took a day to try out every showroom in town and every ergonomic chair. When I sat in the "Amia," I knew instantly that it was the one--it beat out all the competition. Delivery was punctual, the item was as promised, the upholstery perfect, and I am very very happy. I love this chair and every feature it advertises. If you are in the market, I highly recommend this one by Steelcase, but there are several other in the line that are also excellent. The Steelcase "Leap," for example, is very much like the "Amia," but a little heavier--probably perfect for a man's frame. But finding the right chair really and truly requires the "toosh test." Invest the time and try out all the top competitors--your research will pay off in the 'end.' |

great ergonomic chair, reasonable price I work at home as a freelance writer. I could not find a comfortable chair, for more years than I could say. I tried a friend's Leap chair and loved it. But they are expensive. I read reviews & found out that the Amia has most of the features of the Leap chair at a lower price. I'm glad I got this one. There is no assembly. It's so obvious how to adjust, you need nothing extra, no help. |
