It is beautiful and has a permanent spot on my range since I use it on a daily basis. It is perfect for most any cooking task, and does a better job evenly browning meats than my $150 all-clad pan. It is a do everything piece of kitchenware. I have even used it for deep frying and it has performed wonderfully. It is great for our family of 6 with its large capacity. I was hesistant to spend so much on any one item and was also worried about the weight of the pan, but I am so glad I went ahead and bought it! It is heavy when full, so if you have problems lifting things up and down to get it in and out of the oven, it may not be the pot for you. Personally I don't find it that heavy, but I'm a pretty strong chick:) This pot is the best and I am looking in to purchasing a staub braising pot also because I have been so impressed!
