Just what I hoped for

The piece arrived in perfect condition, and we are currently leaving it right on the stove even when we're not using it. It is really a nice looking piece and I hope to be able to report back that we've also made some good food in it!

Worth the cost . . .

This was my first purchase in higher-end cookware. Being a single guy, I have up until now used the typical brands of cookware. Growing tired of buying replacements every couple of years or so, I decided to make an investment of sorts and go with Staub. The color is truly beautiful, and like others wrote, it does seem to make one happier cooking with the piece. Just more pleasant of an experience. I have used this piece three times so far, and am very happy with the quality. The weight is noticeable, but not too heavy. I did have reservations with the weight, but it is not a problem. This is a high quality piece of functional art. Really. I look forward to adding future additions of the Staub line. Warmly, Chris

Beautiful, functional oven

I love this thing. It is a pleasure to use and makes cooking more fun. It exudes quality and cooks really well. The thing is very heavy though.

Much better than my old knock-off

I've been using a knock-off enameled cast-iron piece for years and it recently started showing significant wear so I decided to treat myself to a nice Staub. So far I've made Coq Au Vin and Chicken Cacciatore with wonderful results. I really feel like these dishes came out better using the Staub than the old knock-off. There was better browning without burning. Both dishes were tender and cooked through without being dry or mushy (which was a problem in the past). In addition, the look of this cookware is fantastic.

My favorite pot

I love this color -- not only is it beautiful, but it does it all. Browns meats beautifully, cooks evenly, can go from stove-top/oven to table-top, cleans easily. It's used in my home kitchen a few times a week.

Fabulous Staub Cocotte

I absolutely love this pot! Not only is it beautiful it cooks evenly, browns food wonderfully and leaves a nice fond in the bottom of the pan. A bargain for the serious cook, or those that just want a superior pot for braising, roasting and stewing.

Don't think, just buy it.

Very heavy, well built and beautifully finished Oval Dutch Oven. The black textured interior does a remarkble job of browning meat on the stove top and cleans very easily. The green exterior cleans easily as well as brings beauty to your table.
