In 2004, Spiegelau was purchased by Georg Riedel, the owner of Riedel Glass Works, and is now part of the Riedel Glass Works, as well as the Riedel/Nachtmann/Spiegelau Group. In response to this growth, in 2006, with its reputation on the rise, the company launched Spiegelau U.S.A.; its North American headquarters under the direction of 11th generation glass making executive Maximilian Riedel.
Spiegelau's unrelenting commitment to excellence combined with its ability to innovate and still remain accessible has allowed the company to endure and prosper where so many other glass manufacturers have melted away like so much molten glass.
In addition, Spiegelau also preserves the age old craft of hand blown glass. By working closely with sommeliers, chefs, and consumers, Spiegelau has truly personalized the wine experience, creating a sturdy-yet-fine wine glass for every taste and need.
