I bought these stands for my surround Polk Monitor 40 speakers which are pretty large for surround (they have 2 6.5 inside). I liked the design and found the stand looks like it does online. It is sturdy which was needed, bc my surround set is large. I have carpet so the spikes keep the stand in place and proper speaker positioning (weight distribution) keeps them from moving at all. It comes with double sided tape but I wont be sticking those on my speakers until I dont care abt them. The height was great as they rise over my sectional. My gf didnt like the look, she found it to be a little industrial."..."  Read more

These stands, as others have pointed out, are sturdy enough on initial construction, with a few minor concerns. Which are: the slightly shifting top plate (something which could have been remedied with one more bolt), the ability to actually fill these w/ damping material, and the color (minor). I am using a rather large Dynaudio speaker on these, and they seem to rest quite comfortably atop of these stands, making them good for larger speakers. They also look half-way attractive, too, with the matte silver finish (others have noted the color-to my eye, it's probably more a matter of taste, and I would not be off put by this. They do not look far off in color from what I recollect the silver 805 stands to look like). On a side note, I do not understand why it's so hard to find a relatively sturdy and attractive speaker (and/or) audio stand in USA, while they seem to abound in other countries. I would have ordered from an International seller if this was an option, but choices were limited and these come close to the real deal. (i.e. I refuse to pay $300-$500 dollars on a speaker stand)"..."  Read more

I love this stand. Some people complained about a problem with the threads, but I did not experience that at all -- just be careful when you put the screws in. Start threading them in by hand and ensure they're not cross threaded before you put torque on them with a screw driver. Anyway, great stand for the money. It has spikes as feet that can be adjusted to level the stand if your floors aren't perfect, as well as optional ones on the top that screw in and are intended to rest the speaker on. This stand was perfect for placing my 9" tall center channel under my wall-mounted 55" plasma. The short height is perfect for being able to mount the tv at eye level so my neck doesn't hurt after watching a movie. One star knocked off because the top is not angled, and I don't want my speaker pointed at my knees. Not a serious problem, though. Either put something under the front of the speaker to prop it up (I cut wine corks to the height I needed and put them on the front corners of the stand), or you could buy some machine screws and nuts at a hardware store and put them in the threaded holes the top spikes are supposed to go in and use those to adjust the angle of the speaker."..."  Read more

I purchased stands specifically to use behind and to the side of my Precor elliptical exerciser in a room at an angle to the wall so that wall mounting was not an option. I had a need to get the sound up around my ear level, which is 7 1/2 foot when using the machine, so I needed stands that would angle the speakers upward, an unusual request of a stand. They mostly are made to mount the speakers to shoot out horizontally or at an angle downward. I mounted Paradigm Atom surround speakers to these stands. I chose them as they were made to allow the speakers to angle toward those on a couch. I used the L-bracket backwards of what was standard so the bottom of the speaker was not supported, the only option I could determine while using the Paradigm 10 cm mounting holes. I did not want to drill into the speakers and could not use the flat mounting options with my desire to angle them upward. So far, they have not tipped over in one month of use even in a playroom that kids are in and out of. They are definitely a little tippy the way I have mounted the speaker in a non-standard way, but I am satisfied that there was an option that would allow me to aim the speakers upward."..."  Read more
