This OmniMount Elo series was very inexpensive and I wasn't sure that it would meet the grade. But with a glass base and a low price, I decided to try it out anyway and I'm glad I did. [...] once I saw how it was put together I was impressed and pleased. The post (spray painted silver gray) is securly attached to the base and there are enough mounting brackets supplied to deal with most any speaker system. My Energy Take Classic speakers could easily have been mounted using 3 different methods (all supplied with the stands)but easiest was using the included L bracket and 1/4-20 screws. The 16 gauge speaker wire was easy to fish through the tubing and I'd guess that even 14 gauge would be OK as well.Once everything was mounted, wired and in place, I was pleased with how sturdy the speakers seemed to sit on the carpeting of my den floor. While a small child or large dog would certainly knock these stands over if they brushed against them, they don't seem to be top heavy or unstable. They look good and the wiring is totally hidden. There's enough adjustablilty in most every direction that you're bound to be able to fit most situations. The glass bases are so much more attractive than a big chunk 'o cast iron too.All said, I'm pleased with this purchase and I believe that the Omnimount Elo Series provides good value."..." Read more

Once I had the assembly done, and the speakers attached, these stands are a very nice, elegant looking setup. That said, the instructions weren't the most user friendly that I've encountered. Especially the segmentally joined plastic pouches containing the hardware pieces. They were labeled, but in no way matched the instruction sheet diagrams which referenced the pieces to be used. This would drive someone not familiar with basic nuts-and-bolts knowledge, crazy! But, through process of elimination, it becomes clear which pieces have to be used, where. The base units, which sit on the floor basically have not heft, but it's enough for the 6 - 7 lb. speakers I'm using. Also, I wouldn't want to extend the height too much, as just a touch to the speaker, and it teeters back and forth. I'm using about 4.5" on extension, and this is adequate for the speakers I'm listening to."..." Read more
