i ahve tried other heaters when my furnace went out. i tried 2 eden pure heaters and they didn't heat house very well. so i installed 240v baseboard heaters throughout home. one 6 footer in each bedroom and one 8 foot 2000 watt in the living room. they worked great everywhere ntil the temps get down to 20 and 30's. at those and colder temps my living room heater struggles to keep up. so i though i would try this tpi heater. since it's twice the wattage. guess what? it works a just like a furnace. it's 15 outside right now. the tpi runs a few minutes to warm up area then when the therostat sees temp where it needs it shuts down. usually for about 10 to 15 minutes. so, this thing doessn't have to run much. i have a 800 sq foot area to heat and this thing doesn't struggle at all. i also notice, the baseboard heaters in the three bedroms that i have , don't seem to run as much. so, i would defintely recommend. i purchased 1 from Wayfair.[...]. then purchased a second for my shop. great product.oh, buy the way, unit that you will receive is actually an updated model with a better look"..."  Read more

Replaced a propane open flame heater in a 500sf basement room with this NG heater. Heats room in around 30-45 minutes from 60 to 70 deg. Used as a suplement heater. Fan is a bit noisy but can be shut off. Produces a little odor but not as bad as that propane heater. Customer service from Mr. heater was good as I emailed them with a question and they responded wihth 2 days."..."  Read more

Love my new heater. I replaced an open flame heater with the plaque heater. It seems to be a more even heat. I dont notice any smell or eye irritation. Installed this unit 3 months ago, just as outside temperatures began to fall. Already had the electric service roughed in, so installation went pretty quickly. Took about 1 hour to mount the optional wall bracket (HIGHLY recommended), hang the unit, and connect the electric service. Heater came to life and was cranking out full heat after 5 minutes or so. Relatively quiet fan for a unit this size, with absolutely no vibration or buzzing from the cabinet. Well-balanced motor and blower. With thermostat set at MAX, it brought the temp of my 19 X 20 X 10 insulated garage up from 38 degrees to 70 in about 90 minutes. Once up to temperature, I cut back the thermo and the unit cycled on for about 8-10 minutes 2 or 3 times every hour, maintaining the 70-degree setpoint. 5 Kilowatts is a hefty amount of power, so you have to balance your heating needs against electric rates. I dont plan to keep my garage at a constant 70 degrees, so energy usage shouldnt be too bad during the winter months. Its still nice to know that the heating capacity is there if you need it - Im sure this unit will bring my garage up to 80 degrees with no problem (except energy cost). Very well-made unit, with quality parts throughout. This is no cheap-o consumer-grade heater. I expect it to last for many, many years. It does cost more than some other models, but if reliability is a priority thats a fair tradeoff. In the long run, you may end up paying much less than buying a cheaper unit (which fails after a couple years). Cant think of any reason not to recommend this heater. If it holds up year after year, Id consider the purchase price a bargain. If you need to heat a 400-500 square foot space, this unit will do the job."..."  Read more
