We have been using the heater for about 5 weeks now and its working as advertised. The heater is small and quiet, but it does produce ample heat. We are using the heater in our kitchen area (16X16) which also has 3 rooms off. Although those rooms do not receive much of an effect it does help. Also, we turn the furnace on in the morning to remove the overnight chill and then shut the furnace down for the rest of the day. Using this heater and a Life Smart in the living room works well for us. To date the temperature has not gone below 12F, so it remains to be seen how well it will perform below 0F and the Hawk blowing from the north.

The Lifesmart infrared heater was just what I expected, but which is the definition of quality: The price and product matching the expectations.
It is an attractive piece of furniture and does not look like a cheap space heater added to a room. It looks like it belongs in the room. It is not noisy. It distributes the warmed air evenly and supplements the main heating system to bring up the temperature in my home office to a more comfortable level without raising it to a level my wife doesn't like in the part of the house where she is.
I got two and plan on getting two or three more.
Downside: According to the directions, you should place the unit three feet away from anything around it. If you follow that to the letter, you will have to put the unit practically in the middle of an average room, which is not practical and could pose a tripping hazard in and of itself. I suspect this caution may be found on any space heater for liability purposes and is not a limitation of this particular unit."..." Read more

Love my new heater. I replaced an open flame heater with the plaque heater. It seems to be a more even heat. I dont notice any smell or eye irritation. Needed a heater that would keep a really cold garage near the warm side and once I tryed this Infrared Heat Quest 1500, I fell in love with it. With safety features in please, I don't have to worry about it causing a fire. It's attractive workes like a charm and its even on wheels so its extremely easy to move around. I would recommend this heater to anyone who needs a really, really good one and even though it's a little more expensive than what we wanted to spend, I would without a doubt do it again.
