South Shore Vintage Panel Bedroom Collection
A rather cumbrous thing. Probably shouldn't be attempted alone.

Being as I live alone I had to move and assemble this in like manner. Being as I was raised with a healthy supply of Legos I generally enjoy furniture assembly, I believe I have a good head for it, and I possess about a dozen and a half other pieces of furniture 'round the household which I have also assembled. I've prefaced my review thusly so that nobody should think me some sort of furniture wimp assembly when I say that this was a five or six hour ordeal to assemble. Granted, some of that had to do with trying to assemble the main frame of it while balancing things without a second set of hands. Nevertheless some of the (massive amount of) hardware fell loose out of the box as I opened it, poor identification of the pieces (how hard is it to put a letter sticker on something or a "this side up") was a bit frustrating, and the twenty chintzy plastic runners really took an inordinate amount of time and hand pain to cram into place. Also lugging the main frame of it (or whatever, the part that's not the drawers) into the next room, I gashed open my foot and, much more disturbingly, came dangerously near to crushing my cat in a she-would-have-died sort of a way. So you'll definitely want a buddy for this one, even if you're someone who's usually fine disregarding such warnings.

I purchased two Vintage Cherry nightstands to match a bed with cherry post. The colors matched very well. Most importantly the night stands delivered were under $100 each and once assembled they were clearly night stands that would sell for at least $250 each. One note is that the units do take time to assemble. All parts are clearly marked and assemble as instructed, but if you are not a person use to assembling a component with lots of parts and fasteners then I would not recommend this project. I invested 4 hours to complete both units.
Fine for guest room

After extensive review of other comments made on this product I purchased it for our guest room. The product arrived quicker then I expected and was well packaged. All the pieces were included , however the directions are not easy to read; be prepared to spend time reviewing the steps and sorting the hardware first. As was mentioned in another review, some of the pieces did not have pre drilled holes where they were supposed to and this made for a longer assembly time and definite need for drill/electric screwdriver. Overall bed frame looks fine and is functional but given how long it took to assemble I think in hindsight I would pay extra to have a bed assembled from a store.
Beautiful and worth it

It is heavy when fully assembled. The finish is rich and warm. All that's needed to assemble is a hammer and Phillips, flat head screwdriver. They don't recommend the use of an electric drill, but I still used one having experience prior with assembling furniture. Takes about 40 mintes to fully assemble, if you take your time and check your work. All needed pieces are included except bolts to secure to bed frame, which I got from a sauder headboard I purchased and the company that delivered my new bed. If pieces are missing there is an 800 number in the included directions. They also included a color pen from scuffs and things. It is pressed wood not solid but in apperance looks great. Does wiggle when attacted but feels secure not to fall. Should be against a wall seeing that the back is not finished. I attached the wood extenders and realized they are not needed for a queen bed, which I have. You only need them for a full.
Headboard looks great with my eclectic collection of furniture odds and ends!

Product was so heavy that I almost couldn't carry it into the house! Turns out, most of the weight was the packing material. It arrived completely unassembled, and the instructions were absolutely awful!!! Tiny print, which made it hard to read, and in addition, very confusing. It definitely needs two people to get through the assembly process, as stated in the instructions, but the final look was just as I hoped. Don't try to do it alone. And for goodness sake, tell the supplier to make the instructions bigger and less confusing.
Caution if not buying head board
Nhon from Bordentown, NJ– Verified Buyer
The bed is solid and easy to assemble. However it is larger than a normal queen mattress because it leaves some room for the headboard. If you buy the bed without the head board, there will a gap on the platform not covered by the mattress.
Worth the effort

On a whim, I tried the risky thing of buying furniture over the internet. Advantage was, I found exactly the right piece at the right price! This chest looks great once fully assembled. In cherry, it's a bit darker than pictured, which was a great match to the rest of my furniture. There's no way to sugar coat this...it did take me 3 hours to put it together. Honestly, that's about what I expected. A lot of it was "tool less", and to be sure, this is not the best construction (plastic pegs, etc.) quality, but it is quite solid once you tighten and align everything. I had some parts left over, and it took me a while to find the steps I missed. I decided not to take it apart again to redo it.PROTIP: The drawer bottoms are printed cardboard. They warp like crazy if the room is too humid! Makes assembly all the more difficult, so turn on the air or something to prevent them from curling up, which makes them difficult to put in the slots.Overall, I'm quite satisfied!
very sharp-looking bed
Dave from Lafayette, LA– Verified Buyer
arrived almost immediately; very, very easy to assemble; very nice looking. The only drawback is that one leg got wet (window left open). The particle board or plywood swelled up and the tissue-thin woodgrain surface was burst open in several places. Haven't yet figured out how to camouflage this.
Headboard plus bed

This is a nice looking bed however I concerned about the support of the headboard. It only connects on the lower portion of the legs so if the bed is moved, it sways the headboard. The bed seems very stable and even hard to move over the carpet. One of my pieces came cracked at the end and I glued it myself. Overall the bed is good, just not a great fit with a headboard.

Looks nice and was easy to put together. Do not trust leaning on it while in bed, as the material where the screws go in is not wood, and would give. I'm sure there are ways to make it more sturdy. Since it is in a guest room, I haven't worried about it much.Good for the price.
