South Shore TV Stands

I spent hours online looking for something I was beginning to think did not exist. I had a 42" TV, mounted on the wall. There were black wires hanging out of it, dripping down my light bisque-colored wall, and they were UGLY. I needed a unit to put under my TV to help cover up the ugly, but everything I found online had one of two problems: Either the unit was high enough to be a bedroom bureau, far too high to place a TV. Or it was too low, requiring that these cords dropped down two feet. The City Life TV stand was the answer to these problems. It stands high enough that the problem of hiding the cords is reduced to one that is solved by putting a piece of sculpture, about a foot high, on the top of the two shelves of the unit and right under the TV. But I was so surprised to see that this utilitarian answer to my problems would turn out to be so beautiful. Its rich honey color makes this piece of furniture look four times the price. It has a contemporary flair to its presence but could be used with other motifs. It could be placed in a den or in a more formal living room setting. Its clean lines and frosted glass to hide a multitude of sins add to its statement of simplicity. Bought this for a 50-inch TV, was a bit disappointed to see that TV sides were longer than that of the top shelf it stands on, so dont get this if you have strict aesthetic rules. Other than that, the stand is quite beautiful, and has a very modern look to it. Love the frosted glass doors. Stand is perfect for small apartment living, and has lots of compartments for storage. The holes in the back definitely need to be bigger. Con - dust settles quickly on this thing, and is quite visible. By the way, several reviews here have mentioned that some part of the TV stand arrived scratched. I called customer service and mentioned this, and they said they would contact the furniture company itself and request extra packaging on my order. Bought this TV stand for our daughter's new apartment. We were searching for one that could hold an old style 32 " TV and this stand delivered. Very sturdy construction with a middle support. Easy to assemble, beautiful dark brown finish, great storage, modern design - all for [$]. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because there were 2 places where the fiberboard was damaged - nothing a little touch up stain wouldn't fix. The TV stand is very nice, extremely easy to put together, and all the hardware included was very nice and very sturdy, which you can't always say for "put it together yourself" equipment. The only complaint i have was that the left corner of the top piece had a crack in the particle board, and having dealt with returning online purchased equipment before, i knew that it would be weeks on weeks until i got my replacement part... so i didn't bother and just fixed it myself. I constantly get compliments on the TV stand and it easily holds my 61" Rear Projection TV with room to spare. Great buy and Great product. Thanks."..."  Read more
