Arrived fast, one very heavy box (after all, it's a bed!) but no damage. They package this baby very well, with no excess of garbage but very well engineered. In the kit there is everything you need, except tools of course, but with all the hardware necessary to assemble the bed. I did that myself in one hour. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. In the box there is even two pieces of wood cut at the right length so you know where to drill the bed to the platform. Bed is a piece of solid particle board, so of course it does make your mattress very firm (as I wanted). The only thing I am worried is that this is a solid continuous piece of particle board (as is the whole bed), not one of these European wood with slats that somehow adapt and conform to your body and let the mattress breath. Let's see if that, in the long run, does affect the mattress. The bed does smell of glue and paint. Mine got rid of it in one to two days: I recommend to leave windows open for few hours before use it. So far so good: we had this last week and it is so far very good: good looking and comfortable. The Queen mattress fit perfectly in the frame. Great buy for the price!
It says you need two people to put together

I managed to do it all by myself. I'm a pretty unathletic average white girl, 5'7", with a "i can do it all by myself" complex about most things. So I put it together by myself, but it probably wasn't one of my best life choices. You really should have at least two people. Its not so much the construction that is difficult, but you have to line up the platform portion PERFECTLY with the frame and it's kind of hard to line up a massive piece of composite by yourself. Also, the little rim pieces need to be screwed in from the BOTTOM, so it would be helpful to have someone lift the bed a bit for you so that you can actually get under it enough to easily screw in the screws. Now that being said, I am actually pretty dang disappointed in one real thing. The composite that makes up the platform portion isn't painted whatever color the rest of the bed is. It's just the color of like a cork board. Which means, if your mattress doesn't PERFECTLY fit onto the platform, you can see the tacky cork color. Which is really disappointing. And really the only way that I can think to remedy that is to either get a dust ruffle, which I think completely negates even having a platform bed, OR I'll have to move my mattress and spray paint it black. Which will come with it's own set of problems. Other than that it seems to be a great bed. It's just irritating to spend several hours constructing this thing and then have it look cheap because the platform pieces aren't the same color as the rest of the bed.
More than I expected

I accidentally bought a different more expensive version of this bed a while back. With this one I had very low expectations, LOLOL. I'm very mechanically inclined and only used the pictures to put it together when I needed them (to make it more of a challenge). It says that it takes 40 to put together, took me about 25 including a couple glasses of wine. It was perfect for what I wanted. The bed can be pulled up away from the support boards to store seasonal things you don't need. My wife loves it and the particleboard smell will fade after a night or two. I thought that with the 1/2 inch frame that is need more support for my mattress. Well you don't need it. If you wanted to, I'd recommend getting some black stain to stain about two to four inches of the boards your mattress sets on. It's not necessary but if your sheets are very tight then you'll know what I mean. So if you want something very easy to put together and cheap. This is the one for you. You'll get more than you expect for a cheap platform.

I am satisfied with this purchase. For the price it did not disappoint. My only suggestion is to heed the instructions and actually grab someone to help you. This bedframe is very HEAVY. I put it together by myself (a great reminder of how much I need to work out, mind you), but it would have been MUCH easier had I had an extra hand.. (I won't tell you how long it took me). Good quality, my queen mattress fit perfectly. Like other reviewers, I also had a difficult time lining everything up perfectly, and had some heated arguments with the screwdriver to make sure I got it all lined up. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

Purchased the platform bed to save the expense of a box spring. Price was right. Not sure what I expected, but the assembly was pretty time-consuming since the instructions say no electric screwdriver. Only issue in working alone on the assembly is once you get the frame put together, it becomes heavy and awkward to lift and turn. And then the final step, "flipping" it right side up is most definitely a two-person job. I purchased the Queen-sized frame and my daughter is a slight build so I'm not concerned with it handling her weight or the weight of two people. Seems pretty sturdy. I'd recommend it.
Heavy, sturdy, comfortable

The bed arrived about 4 days later than expected, but with the snow storm happening in the eastern portion of North America, the delay was understandable. Assembly of the bed was fairly straight forward, nothing more complicated than a bookshelf, or entertainment center. Some of the pieces has odd overlaps until you turned them over/around and then everything was evenly matched. The portion of the beds on either sleeping side lacked proper screw guides/pilot holes to attach the moulding, and there was no indication on the moulding where the screw was to go, resulting in a briefly frustrating moment. Drilling new pilots and lining everything up was not hard, but it would have been nice to have an exact spot to put everything. The bed is firmer than it was with box springs, and I find it to be comfortable. I can provide no normalized method of comparison, (i.e. sleeping on a bed of rose petals vs the jagged rocks of the wind swept desert). A point of notice for those looking at the height of their bed. A standard box spring and metal frame was roughly 5 inches taller than this platform. This means that your bed will be slightly lower to the ground.

I bought this in a King size. Not too bad to assemble but it's much easier if you have an electric drill. It was awkward to have to place the rim around the top of the bed. Too heavy to lift so had to lay on the floor to hand screw the screws in (the electric drill wouldn't fit) while someone else held the rim in place. I am pleased with this purchase the only thing I wish was different was the the whole platform was one color. In the picture it looks like where the mattress sits, it's a light colored wood finish but in actuality, it has that cork board look. I bought this with a king size mattress and the mattress doesn't cover the bed. It's short maybe an inch or 2 on both sides so the cork board part shows. Nothing a little paint and a nice comforter couldn't cover. Overall, it's a decent purchase for a King size.
Great product, matches the description

Just received my bed. The shipping was quick, the problem was fed ex and their horrible service. Once I received the bed I put it together with my boyfriend. Took approx. an 1hr 1/2. Fortunately, I had all the pieces and no damage to the package. Haven't slept in it yet, but it was easy to assemble and seems to be pretty sturdy. It is a low bed, which is why i like it. Be careful if you have wood floors, it will scratch if your are not careful. Good price, easy to assemble shipping was quick, but shipping company had bad service.
Just what I was looking for.

Excellent buy for the price. I am a 75 yr. old female and was able to put it together by myself. I did paint the unfinished surfaces to protect against moisture and applied felt self stick weather strip to the bottom surfaces, since I am using the bed on a hardwood floor. I was able to use a headboard that I already had to finish it off. Pros: Great buy Cons: I modified the instructions to make it easier for one person to handle. Not all pieces were labled, but I could figure it out.

The bed frame arrived according to their estimation. Building took probably 2 hours by my girlfriend & myself, who are no handymen. There's one final part at the end that is quite tedious, but other than that it went fine. After about a week, it's still sturdy, no creaks, no issues whatsoever. You get what is pictured & it is a great bed. Would recommend.
