Worst screws ever!
Laura from Pensacola, FL– Verified Buyer
I put the bed together today. There are not too many parts, which was nice. When I put the main 'box' together that the platform goes on, it was not square, which made the platform holes not line up properly. All of the black screws used to attach the platform and side rails have the smallest and most shallow phillips holes I have ever seen. Even with an array of drill bits, I could not find one the right size to successfully drive the screws into the particleboard completely. Also, it appears that the metal that the screws are made of is cheap and they strip right away. My suggestion is that you buy or find better screws in your collection; it will make the process go much better. I think the platform itself will be solid enough for the memory foam mattress and sleeping.
Good Value Platform Bed
Sonja from Gates Mills, OH
My Newbury platform bed arrived when expected, and package was very heavy, just as others have said. Husband and I just moved box into doorway to open, then carried individual boards into the room where we wanted to set it up. Instructions were alright, but a little fuzzy in spots. We didn't realize at first that the wood tone blocks were supposed to be used to line up the top frame of bed with the base...we thought it was just packaging supports. But we got bed assembled in a fair amount of time, and it looked good when we finished. Have a 10 inch memory foam mattress on it, and it is extremely comfortable. The frame looks like it might not stand up to rough use, but we have it in a guest bedroom, so for us it is fine. I think I might hesitate if buying for a very active child for daily use, definitely won't bear jumping on bed! Good value for occasional use or respectful child or teen.
You get what you pay for, not for the OCD furniture assembler.

It's cute and sturdy, for $125 you can't beat it. With that said the instructions weren't very clear.Once assembled the platform base wasn't square so it was difficult to line up the planks and get each side to match up. This also made it difficult to line up the predrilled holes on the plank with the base. The trim also isn't straight because of this, drive my ocd husband crazy, after hours of trying to get it straight and trying to screw everything in we just gave up and let it be crooked. But like I said for $125 it was better than sleeping on the floor till we get our fancy king sized bed we want.
Easy to assemble

The bedrame came in a long and thin box that was super heavy. I had to open the box and carry it in piece by piece. The slabs of particle wood were packed tightly together and came with all hardware with picture instructions that were easy to follow. The slabs of wood had letters stamped on them to aid in matching the pieces. Two people were needed for to put this together. I also had to use a drill b/c there were no predrilled holes for some of the boards. There was no way I could have screwed in those screws with a screwdriver. Once finished, the bedframe looked cheap, but it didn't look that bad once the mattress was put on. My room is small and the bedframe did not look as attractive as did shown in the model picture. I ended up purchasing a headboard from south shore to match.
Loved the price
Alexa from New Lenox, IL
I bought this piece because it was exactly what I was looking for for a great price. We have not yet put it together yet due to the hardware was missing (wasn't in the box). The company was very nice about it and is sending the missing parts ASAP.
Good Bed for the Price

This bed is good quality for the price. It is attractive and does the job. It was not too difficult to construct, the directions were pretty clear. The pieces are not pre-drilled, so it does takes a good bit of time and energy to put this together.
Hard to build, but nice bed!
Beverly from New York, NY– Verified Buyer
Looking at this bed, I had NO idea it would be so heavy. I had to build it by myself, and it was pretty difficult since all the pieces are made out of heavy wood. Once I got the base built (the hardest), I was able to lay the flat pieces for the platform. And either this was a manufacturer error, or it was just the way it was made, but the platforms were really hard to screw into the base because there weren't any holes.. You pretty much just had to screw the flatform straight into the base. As a result, some of the screws popped out of the side of the bed. Luckily, no one can see them... AND the borders to go around the bed have to be screwed in on the bottom AND they didn't have holes... So it was realy difficult screwing the borders from the underside... SO HARD TO BUILD.
Best bed frame!

This is my first low profile frame, and Im in love! Im very short (4'11) and my husband is 5'7 and it works for the both of us. Makes our bedroom look instantly bigger and our new comforter stands out in a great way!

The height is nice and its nice and sturdy. Only thing that its a bit larger than a queen size so there is space in the corners.

My daughter is thrilled with a lower level platform bed. It is simple although the instructions are not at all clear with the trim. It is a simple design that really opens up a room
