#1 - you do have to assemble this headboard#2 - assembly is not impossible or very hard (I'm not very skilled with assembling furniture but I did this assembly job just fine)#3 - great sturdy headboard when finished The bed is not made from a real solid wood, but rather a composite. Regardless of what it is made for, it is easily a great deal at its cost. I had several parts broken [...] The company who makes this were helpful with getting the broken parts dealt with. My husband and I had been shopping for a bed for a few weeks when he found this headboard and decided that he wanted this one and nothing else. I was kinda iffy on purchasing it due to another review but decided to give it a shot. Im extremely happy with this buy. We ordered a bedframe from another store to go with it and they fit together great. When we took the peices out of the box they were dusty so we dusted them off before we even began assembly. Under 'Cons' I wrote possible missing parts but that could go for the frame as well. When we put the headboard and frame together we realized that no one included any hardware to connect them. We ended up having to goto the hardware store twice, bc the first time we thought we could eye ball it but obviously couldnt(not there fault we made two trips). Assembly: Let me say first that my husband and I are HORRIBLE that putting things together. The directions were pretty easy to follow. We were stuck on one particular step for a long time because we had the board upside down and backwards. Putting the headboard and frame together(not including trips to the store) took about 2 hours for both. The hardware for the headboard is pretty darn nifty and seems like it will hold up for a long time. In the end we love the bed and couldnt be happier. Its very sleek looking. Easy to assemble, looks great for my guest room. Kind of surprised, however, that it didn't include the bolts you'd need to attach headboard to bed frame; as I didn't have any on hand, headboard is currently in place but not secured to bed frame. I taped some padding to the back of the headboard so that it wouldn't scratch paint on wall, or move/jiggle due to not being bolted on. Works just fine. It did appear that 'perhaps' it might take some work to get the holes on headboard legs to line up with the holes in a standard (queen) frame."..."  Read more

I like this headboard. It is exactly as it appeared online. I do wish it were a little taller so that there was more bed showing from behind my pillows. I also wish the sides of the headboard were covered so that you couldn't see the separate pieces of the veneer and the support board from the side. I may have to reposition my bed so that you can't see it from the doorway. Despite these minor details, the headboard finishes off my guest bedroom nicely."..."  Read more
