For computer desk and related storage use.The product is nice in appearance and size and fits conveniently inside small apartment spaces, especially when having to allow room for other furniture. The make is sturdy enough, considering it is processed wood/pressboard. Smells distinctly like pine, which is nice.As for setup. Well, the directions, including pictures could have been demonstrated better. A few steps do not even match the actual part used vrs the drawing given. There were even drill holes missing from "one" piece that were necessary. Luckily we own a drill. Using logic you can figure out what goes where. The problems are with the sliding drawer set up, specifically.Also, the screws with this desk are meant for a specific type of allen wrench. This "Is Not" included with the part kit in this desk. You will have to own one already or buy it. This was extremely inconvenient for us. Desk should already include a cheap version like most do it yourself bundles or regular screws.The minor troubles aside, it is a decent desk for a fairly reasonable price and slightly better than you could get in a few Major shopping centers. I shopped around for about a month looking for a quality desk at an affordable price with the desktop and storage space appropriate for my home office. With both style and affordability, this desk was a clear choice. Assembly was easy and straightforward and even came with a few extra screws and dowels just in case. The surface finish looks really attractive and is easy to clean. The file drawer slides effortlessly and has an effective file hanging system. This desk is great looking and sturdy, and the surface is smooth and easy to care for. I would highly recommend it! My only negative comment is that there are some triangles in the package in the same grain as the desk, and at the end we were worried because we did not know where they went. I called South Shore and they explained that they were for stability in the package for shipping purposes, and were not actually a part of the desk. The instructions did not make this clear, but we were very happy to confirm that we had not forgotten a piece during assembly."..."  Read more

The desk comes with lost of pieces, be prepared to spend a few hours putting the desk together. Directions were easy to follow, but it takes a while. Desk is very sleek looking. The color was exactly how they explained it (chocolate brown) and is very sturdy. The silver pieces on the side legs are not metal like the drawer handles, they are plastic. I thought they would would be metal and look nicer. [...] Desk is very heavy. If I didn't have my boyfriend to help me I would not have been able to lift it. Make sure you are strong or have a strong helper to even get the box into your house. Overall, a good sturdy desk that is definitely worth the price.
