South Shore Back Bay Platform Bedroom Collection
Love this platform bed with storage!
Jane from Fort Walton Beach, FL– Verified Buyer
I would highly recommend this bed! I love the storage and it was pretty easy to put together. I did it by myself (all 95 lbs of me!) in about 4 hours, so with two people (like it recommends), it would take about half that time. The instructions are pretty thorough and easy to follow. I purchased the South Shore Vito Bookcase Headboard (3119092) in Chocolate and used it freestanding behind without any issue. It matches perfectly (style and color). Another reviewer mentioned the sharp corners and I resolved this by purchasing 4 black foam, 90 degree, 1 inch pipe elbows (couldn't find the clear corner protectors mentioned). These foam elbows come with an adhesive strip on the pointed side (outside of an L shape) of the elbow (which is the opening and is opposite of what you need for the corners), but I simply affixed that adhesive edge first and then cut the opposite edge (the inside of the L) and slipped them on all the corners. They work well, don't detract from the product, and were very inexpensive. You could probably paint them the chocolate color if you wanted, but I didn't find that necessary. Your shins will thank you ... Mine did!
Does the job.

Not the highest quality but perfectly fine. Assembly was slightly challenging because components are a little on the cheap side. But it's perfectly adequate, and nice and firm to sleep on. It's not very visible with blankets and bedspread. And no more dog hair tumbleweeds under the bed. Great to have the extra storage. Beds can be so ridiculously expensive for the non-1% income bracket. I'd definitely recommend as an inexpensive option.
You get what you pay for

So...I deserve this. I'm cheap and I thought I could get a good bed for very little money. There are two major problems with this bed. 1st the drawers are much smaller than they seem in the picture. I think they could hold maybe 2 pillows. The other is that the surface where the mattress sits is so smooth and slippery, that the mattress is not held in place at all and the slightest nudge can bump it one way or the other.

I bought this bed for a guest room. It was fairly easy for my husband and I to assemble. Construction seems to be sturdy. I put clear rubber corner pads on all four corners to avoid shin injuries. I suggest the manufacturer supply them with this product.
Looks great, ridiculously complicated to assemble

I withheld a star from my review only because this nightstand took me waaaaay longer to assemble than it should have. I'm pretty handy and can follow even convoluted directions well, and this thing was a nightmare to put together. I'm totally happy with the way it looks, though. I bought 2 more nightstands in a different color for our master bedroom and the dresser version for our master as well (this nightstand was for our guest room) at the same time I bought this one, and now I'm absolutely DREADING putting them all together, as it will probably take me an entire day. Ugh.
Ended Up Throwing Out The Drawer

As far as assembly, steps 1-3 were fairly straightforward. After about an hour and a half I was able to put the base, sides and top together. It only took so long because I had to take apart one side after the other to flip the base or top around since the picture illustrations showed one thing, but after assembly it was the exact opposite.
Good sturdy bed!

This is a good bed, though it came in many pieces and was a little difficult to put together. Also, the drawers underneath have limited height and space, but it is nice to have a little extra storage.
Nice Platform Bed
Gillbert Manacsa from Raleigh, NC– Verified Buyer
Nice looking platform bed with two big drawers. It is very heavy after assembly as it is made of dense chipped wood and glue. The finish is a nice espresso and looks like real wood. It was a little intimidating at first because of so many pieces and parts. But just sort and lay out the parts and follow the diagrams closely and you shouldn't have any problems. The bed is very solid. I placed a memory foam mattress on top and it was very comfortable. There is no wobbling or creaking. One thing which I don't like is the sharp corners on the platform. You can easily hurt your shins in the middle of the night causing a rude awakening. I plan to put some kind of bumpers around them but haven't found the right thing yet. Oh and if you plan to move this bed around after assembly, if you have carpeting, replace the little felt pads with furniture sliders.

I purchased this end table to go in my 5 year old son's room. I got it on sale for an amazing price and my expectations for this product were not high. It was a little tricky for my husband to assemble and there seem to be more cons than pros with this item. All and all, it has been a good little table for my four year old and the price was unbeatable.
Beds aint cheap

Hard to put together if you don't at least have a little power drill. Took 3 hours to assemble and it was so difficult, I didn't even bother finishing the platform hardware. Came with a big chip in the wood. Pointy corners, I'm going to get some guards for that! Also, the drawers are little hard to get too. Other than that, it's an okay bed. I guess you get what you pay, beds just don't come cheap.
