This item is solid wood construction, the drawers slide easy enough for my 4 and 6 y.o. to open and close. Also, the dressers are as tall as me and they fit A LOT! We bought the lighter finish and we love it! It matches the rest of the light wood furniture we have and blends right it with existing pieces. Who knew good dressers could be so affordable! The only drawback is that it's pine, which is a relatively soft wood. Although it's scratch-free now, I'm concerned about future dings, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
