Prepac Sonoma Headboard Bedroom Collection
Expectations were met based on what I paid
Michelle from Petersburg, AK– Verified Buyer
As this item is not high-end, I fully expected to get a functional, solid product reflective of the price. Hopefully, my 14 year old son will be able to treat it with care, as I would list the quality as a step or two down from Ikea's low-end furniture. It is a press-board product covered in a thin laminate type skin. I bought it as a set with the Prepac Sonoma storage platform bed, computer desk and 2 of the Hawthorn 48" bookcases, all in black. It looks very nice in the room. Be aware that this headboard listed as being available in full/double size is, in fact, queen sized. As a result, the full/double storage platform bed looks obviously smaller. Also, there is a lip on the headboard base that doesn't allow for the drawers (closest to the headboard) on the storage platform bed to open without pulling the bed away from the headboard. Overall, there were a few issues with the directions being unclear or out of order, but we figured it out.

Loving the lingerie chest, but get ready for an assembly project. The directions are poorly written and are not extremely detailed. I was missing a fairly important part that allows one of the drawers to be held in place and glide in and out. I'm the kind of person that counts every piece and lays everything out beforehand, so I noticed right away it was missing. I went ahead and put it together anyways because I really couldn't wait for a replacement part to come and didn't have time to run to the hardware store to try to match up the missing part. It seems to be working okay. Just be aware and count all the parts and pieces beforehand. Not sure if this is a fluke or if it happens with this product often.
Fit's the need at the right price

Rating is based strictly on cost vs value. The fit, finish, and engineering of this product does not match similar IKEA or Scandavavian Design items. The engineering is not as sophisticated and the materials are not as heavy. For example there are exposed screw heads on the exterior sides of the chest that are covered by plastic caps. With that said, the chest fit our needs for the price. I would not pay over $160-$170 for this item. The chest is solid and will hold up to normal use. It is not difficult to assemble if you can easily follow the directions and you have some mechanical ability and time. There is a lot of hardware to install and probably more than 125 secrew or fasteners to put together.
Exactly what I expected and looks great!

Nice addition and pretty sturdy for the price. No trouble putting it together. Took my boyfriend and I a bit longer than we thought, but all came together nicely. Only issue we had was that one of the side pieces did not have pre-drilled holes (necessary). Called the number on the instructions (if missing pieces) and was settling in for a long wait and much transferring around. Someone answered right away and just asked what piece I needed. They shipped it out immediately.
One year later, still going strong!

I wanted to wait to see if this benchstorage unit fell apart as it was very inexpensive. To my delight, no! It's going strong and it the perfect height to rest below our son's window. We have plantation shutters and they need to open out -- they clear the bench perfectly. Great storage for books and shoes. You could put a cushion on the bench and still have window clearance. We live in a track home in Thousand Oaks, CA so I think we've got pretty much standard window placement. Got the black bench and love it.

The finish is contact paper over pressed board. Drawers roll nicely and drawer pulls are quality. Due to light weight of the unit, you will need to secure to wall so it does not tip over. Perfect size for what I was looking for but wish I would have purchased one of better quality.
Great storage bench, has held up for several years and still looks great.

We bought this as both a bench to hold a large reptile tank, and to store some of our DVD collection several years ago. It survived a move half way across the country and is now used as the kids' shoe cubby and looks great in our family room, without the reptile tank across the top. Very durable, multi-use piece of furniture, glad we purchased it!

This bench is beautiful. Easy to put together, very sturdy construction and the directions were easy to follow. It looks awesome with or without a cushion/pillow on top and the storage cubes I purchased add a really nice design dimension to the look.

I put this in my bed room at the end of my bed, and it work great for places my extra pillows on at nighttime. I bought two of the baskets as you see in the picture and it really adds to the look. I would highly recommend.
Great sitting bench at the end of the bed
Judi from Ann Arbor, MI– Verified Buyer
I don't like to sit on the edge of the bed (ruins the mattress) to put on shoes. Therefore, I purchased this. I also bought some 3" thick foam, fabric and cording. I tacked the fabric onto the top of the bench and hot-glued the cording to cover the staples and rough edges of the fabric. It turned out perfect. Plus, the cubbies fit some nice baskets to hide some storage items. I would recommend this to anyone.
