Length is good for truck beds and taller SUV cargo areas
SB from DFW – Verified Buyer– Top 500 Reviewer
Have had several ramps. The 87" is about as long as you will find. For SVU Cargo areas you really need at least 70". 87" will give you a less steep angle. They make this one in 70" or 87" For 1500 & up trucks beds, this length is good especially for skittish dogs. The steeper the angle the more skittish or reluctant your dog will be. Of course smart, confident dogs do best. The metal surface can be slippery so if you take your dog out in wet conditions you might prefer one of the long folding ones with the sandpaper surface on it. Because this telescopes might be tough to put a rough surface on lower half.. Quality, Strength, and weight all good If you just need a small step to the floor of a car or minivan a shorter one like 42 to 60" might work. For any ramp, I do recommend using treats to train and bracing bottom of ramp with your foot so it doesn't scoot sideways if the dog jumps on sideways. Can help to have 2-3 people when getting the dog used to it to guide the dog up rather than have them chicken out and jump off. Do everything right the first couple of times to avoid spooking your dog. If you just go let's see what happens and spook them, it will take longer to train to use.
Deluxe XL Telescoping 87" Pet Ramp

The Deluxe XL Telescoping 87" Pet Ramp is exactly as described. The ramp is well designed and sturdy. The two halves of the ramp slide together to a size that fits easily in the back of my Subaru Outback. The carrying handle is convenient and comfortable to use. My 110 pound Labrador Retriever is older and has developed arthritis in his legs and back. He can no longer jump out of the car. He has issues on and avoids slippery surfaces (even before the arthritis), but after his first couple of steps on the ramp, he walked right down. The non-slip surface is great. Now he patiently waits while we extend the ramp for him and then he walks right down. I highly recommend the Deluxe XL Telescoping 87" Pet Ramp!

This is a very good quality ramp. It is lightweight, well constructed and telescopes easily. It does flex a little when my 85# dog bounds up it but both ends sit firmly in place and it is quite stable. I previously had a slightly shorter ramp made by a different company which was entirely plastic, more rigid, narrower, heavier and difficult to extend. The original cost was about the same for both and the Deluxe XL Pet Ramp is a far superior product in my opinion. I do cover the ramp's surface with throw rugs because my dog doesn't like the abrasive material but don't find this troublesome.
Great for getting your kids (dogs) in & out of vehicles that have height as shown in the picture!

The product is a little difficult to handle for someone like me who is short, but if you love your kids (dogs) you adjust! I have a SUV and the 87" ramp makes it easy for our dogs to get in and out since the incline is less steep especially for our one 'little man' who is almost blind. We still need to be careful with him, but he is adjusting very well to this new challenge. The one bad thing is that due to it's size it does not fit easily into my Ford Escape. The ramp is built well and handles the weight of our larger dog who weighs about 80 pounds.
Excellent quality product as advertised.

The deluxe telescoping pet ramp is everything we hoped when we ordered it. My doggies are able to get up into the travel trailer for those family camping trips. They get into the truck now without a struggle. The slip resistant pathway is wonderful for my older dog who has difficulty walking , the longer incline enables her to access these heights without a problem. We have recommended this pet ramp to our friends who also travel with their pets. Thank you for a fabulous product.

This ramp is sturdy and not too heavy for me to fold it up and load it. It took my old dog a few tries to go up it as I was teaching an old dog new tricks. Now he knows to just walk up it. He smiles as his old hips do not let him jump into the back of the truck. I think he is happy as I am not lifting him up and getting to close to his personal assets. I would highly suggest this ramp even for dogs who can still jump in. I can also use it for loading heaving objects into the truck.
Takes a little getting used to.....

Out of the box, I ran my 110 lbs. Golden and my 85 lbs mixed breed up the ramp with little problems, it's coming down that takes a little getting used to! Seems well built and strong, but the non skid surface is already scratched up after only a few uses. My dogs seem to be getting the hang of it, though. Next will be my German Shepherd Dog, who has never been in my truck, should be a challenge. Just a note, the side walls could be a little higher, but they work okay.
works great for my two old bassetts...

I use it for my 5th wheel trailer...we spend lots of time in it and my two old hounds were having a very hard time on the steps, they have a bit of weight and the ramp supports both of them at one time easily We showed them one how to use and now they are up and down with ease, and we are all very happy.

This ramp is just what we needed for our dachshund that suffered a spinal injury and cannot walk up and down stairs. We put it in our backyard so that she can get from the deck to the patio on her own. It's given her back some of her independence, and for that alone, it is well worth it!! Pros: Light, sturdy, and easy to manage Cons: none
Pet Ramp Solved our Dog Traveling Problem

We have a very large dog, 100 pounds, that likes to be picked up and put in the vehicle, she does not jump. With some practice, we had her going up and down the ramp to go in and out of the back of a Suburban. The ramp is very stable and is wide enough that the dog feels safe. Pros: Durable, Good Construction, Feels solid under the dog.
