My husband and I typically don't like sitting on sofas or couches because they are often soft with puffy pillows that you constantly have to adjust for comfort and looks. Hate that! I also can't stand getting wedged in the cracks of the sofa cushions and not being able to sit "Indian-style" because a sofa isn't deep enough. For this reason, and the fact that in an Brooklyn 1 bedroom apartment you need a guest bed, we've always had a high end futon as our couch. Until now...Having left NYC for greener pastures, and 3 more bedrooms, we needed to get a "real" sofa for our primary living space. Finally a company that carries products for today's city dwellers and others needing smaller scaled but good quality furniture. [...] Very good quality microfiber - color is more dark brownish green than greenish brown. I enjoy the color very much but also has a miniature schnauzer that does not shed. This sofa took about 40 minutes to put together - it's a shame you can not use the allen wrench in your electric drill as this would have saved a great deal of time. All in all it was fairly straight forward to assemble. All tools needed are included. The legs/feet are sturdy and do come with floor protectors already on them. The two back pillows are connected to each other and have a large sleeve that slips over the back metal slatted back rest of the entire sofa. I was surprised to see this as the back design for the sofa costing about $500 but once it was fully assembled, it is very comfortable. Our sofa DID come with two accent pillows - some reviewers stated they did not receive them. They're nice - on the neutral side and are standard size that you can easily buy pillow covers. Keep in mind that the majority of the sofa pillows are all contained underneath the main seating section during shipping. Be prepared to see everything vacuum sealed in plastic when opening it up. Carefully open the plastic vacuum bag and watch your cushions expand. Your two bottom seat cushion will probably be very wrinkled from being compressed - don't panic. Let these breathe for a couple of days as the cushions will expanding slowly and completely until the wrinkles disappear. I would recommend this sofa to my friends with 4.5 stars."..."  Read more

So I've always envisioned this type of furniture in my living room. Up here on Long Island, the only banana weave furniture you find is intended for the outdoors. I've been scoping a lot of these sets online, most of which cost about $4000 and up for the love seat and sofa. We figured we'd have to pay for the quality. And then we found this one. Although we shop a lot online, we usually base our purchases on others' reviews and this had none. We took the chance in order to save over $2000 and are so happy we did. Love it!!! Arrived quickly. Tons of boxes. Minimal assembly. Hubby felt that the sofa pieces weren't really intended to go together. We think they send you the same pieces whether you're building a love seat, 3 seater sofa or 4 seater sofa, they just send you less/more of the middle pieces. Either way, he worked it out. They're pretty comfy. Sturdy, but comfy. They seem relatively durable. You can zip off all of the cushion covers and machine wash them. Strong smell when you take them out of the box but it goes away once you open some windows and air them out a little bit... the smell is characteristic of that type of wood/ weave material. I needed to buy this because a standard sofa wouldn't fit through my entryway. Since this one has a really cool mechanism to fold out to a queen size bed, it ends up being the size of a queen mattress, which did fit. It's comfortable for those who like to sit upright and like a firm seat. The other Blu Dot sleeper sofa (One Night Stand) is really, really firm. The seat cushion is on the shorter side--I can't sit Indian-style on it, though I can cuddle with my boyfriend on it (we're both thin). The build quality is slightly below that of a Crate and Barrel sofa at a similar price point. But if you like the design of the sofa and need the fold out mechanism, I think it's worth it."..."  Read more
