"Hello Shizuko. The Snoozer Lookout Console Pet Car Seat is intended to be placed on the center console of the vehicle so a seatbelt is not used to secure it. There is a strap which comes with the car seat that attaches to the console which is how the car seat is held in place."

Product Review I bought this car seat in a size small for my 5 pound yorkie and it's a perfect fit, but if your dog is any larger I recommend the next size. I like how easy it was to secure and the fact that it can be easily removed and reattached as needed. My favorite thing about this product is that I can still have my baby ride up front with me without taking up the passenger front seat which is where my other "baby" (13 yr old son) loves to ride. I have already recommended this product to friends and people who have actually honked from the car next to mine at stop lights or in parking lots to ask me where they can get one! I love it! Lu from Staten Island, NY	5.0 7/8/2008 Even my cat loves it! This is used as a bed and as a console seat. I keep it near the kitchen doorway, just inside the dining room, when it's not in the car. My Schnoodle, and cat are always jostling for this soft possession. It's time to order more before there's a fight.
