The color is as it appears in the pictures, only it is a little less 'flat' and a appears a bit lighter because it is velvet and has sheen. Honey is a great descriptive word for the color. We have no complaints at all and would buy another similar headboard if needed. Also, it is relatively tall, which we wanted. There is plenty of room above the pillows so the color shows nicely.
