"Hello Craig, the Skyline Furniture Tufted Headboard is designed to attach to a standard metal bed frame. If you wanted to add it to your platform bed, you may have to purchase some specialized hardware to attach. I would be unable to recommend doing this as it is not recommended by the manufacturer."

The material is very soft and plush, and looks great in person! The only downside to this item is that it smells strongly like the plastic it was wrapped in for shipping and I now regret not letting the item air-out before assembling it and attaching the my bedframe. I would also have appreciated easier to read/understand assembly instructions as the ones included with the headboard were not entirely clear. I would definitely recommend this product to others who are looking for a fabric headboard.
