I was able to thread it and begin sewing fairly quickly, which was a big confidence boost. It handles basic projects really well—hemming, simple garments, and small crafts all come out clean and consistent. The stitch options are just enough to learn with without being complicated, and the machine runs smoothly for the most part. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that it can struggle a bit with thicker fabrics or multiple layers, and the instructions could be a little clearer for absolute beginners. I bought this machine in 2011. The manual that came with it needs improvement the instructions are not complete and the illustrations are confusing and missing steps.
