I call this vacuum Zip because we get the floors done fast. I have 5 dogs, 2 with very long hair, a Great Pyrennes and a Newfoundland, and this is one of the few vacuums able to handle that long, silky hair. Yes, I have to sometimes remove the hair that wraps around the beater bar by hand but I have to do it much less often with Zippy here than I did with any of the other vacuums I've had."..."  Read more

I have used another top brand vacuum cleaner for years because of its reliability. And I thought that it was doing a pretty good job of getting the pet hair from two large dogs out of my carpet pretty well. That is until I tried this new Bissell. Assembly was simple and I tried it out over our freshly vacuumed carpet. I just couldn't believe how much more dog hair was still in the carpet. The Bissell picked up almost twice what my old vacuum did. I was impressed! At this point I cannot speak for reliability as we only had this for about 1 week.
