I ordered this shelf for my son's room. I was skeptical at first but after reading several reviews and watching the how to I decided to take a chance. When it arrived my husband and I put it together and followed the instructions making sure to let it sit for 24 hours and putting all the pieces together including the back board. We were able to put it together in less then 30 minutes. We decorated it with wall clings and it holds his books and little toys. We decided to divide the bottom two shelves and on the top shelf we placed the center board facing front creating a hiding cubby and a face to decorate. Way Basics states this bookcase can hold up to 100 pounds each shelf if the center board is placed in the center of the shelf and 25 pound if the shelf is left out all together. That is another nice feature about this shelf...you can change the center boards around and creat a different look. The shelves are very sturdy and are holding quite a lot of weight, but the corners dent easy due to the material they are made of. Also the covering is easily chipped so be careful moving your shelves. All in all I like the bookcase so much I purchased another unit as an end table for his room, the price is right and it serves the purpose. Where I wanted to mount my shelf clips that hold the shelf there wasn't any studs in the wall. I was able to purchase hollow wall anchors that can hold 90 lbs. It's been several weeks now since I installed the glass shelf and the anchors are holding with no trouble. I rated this shelf a 4 star because it didn't come with any mounting hardware or mounting instructions. The shelf mounting clips are plastic instead of metal but you would have to look close to tell."..."  Read more

You can spend loads more for floating shelves that aren't as nice. The real key to any floating shelve is in what you can't see - and that is how it attaches. These have two large metal arms that extend into the wood rather than the much cheaper systems where it just clips onto a long bar. We made sure to screw into wall studs and the system is very sturdy and lays flat against wall. This also means you can toss all the extra screws and wall anchors in the package (and forego the large holes that come with anchors). Would definitely buy again."..."  Read more

This is a nice shelf except for one thing: the brackets are unattractive, and screw directly into the wall. That means the screws show. This is a very pricey shelf, and normally I would not have paid [$] bucks for a bathroom shelf, but I wanted one with a "gallery railing" to reduce the chance of things falling off and into the toilet. I got creative (ala Martha You-Know-Who) and tied some ribbon around the bracket arms. The ribbon bows hide the screws and most of the brackets. I would only recommend this with reservations because most shelves, towel bars, etc. do not have brackets on which the screws show, and also because of the high price. It is, however, a sturdy shelf and was not too difficult to install."..."  Read more
