Feel like your bedroom is in a rut, but can’t afford to completely renovate the space? Getting new sheets is a quick and affordable way to update your bedroom. You can add a pop of color or introduce a new pattern into your bedroom just by changing out your bed linens.
But life with new sheets isn’t always great. Eventually, those sheets will head into the washer and dryer and need to head back into your linen closet. This is when you meet your arch nemesis: the fitted sheet. It’s safe to say the worst part of sheet sets is neatly folding up your fitted sheet. It’s easy to just crumple it up and toss it into your linen closet, but a smoothly folded sheet set isn’t unattainable! Use these simple steps to learn how to neatly fold a fitted sheet and say hello to organized sheet sets and linen closets.
Hold your sheet by two adjacent corners and place one hand in each of the two corners (so it fits into the seamed peak).
Bring your right hand to the left, and fold the corner in your right hand over the one in your left, tucking it in.
Reach down and pick up the corner that is hanging in front, bring it up and fold it over the two corners in your left hand.
Bring up the last corner and fold it over the others, so you’re holding all the corners in your left hand.
Lay your fitted sheet on a flat surface and straighten it into a rectangle.
Fold into thirds so all the elastic is hidden.
Fold into thirds again until the rectangle is the size you want it to be.
There you have it, a smoothly folded fitted sheet that stacks beautifully with your other sheet sets. You’re well on your way to being the envy of all your friends with your organized linen closet!
