Hinge is a hazard from Scranton, PA on 07/27/2015
Measured area and this fit in perfectly. It's a high wattage though. If you're accustomed to a counter top microwave with less watts - be very careful. One thing I do not like at all - the door hinge only lets this open to a 45degree to the oven and it bounces back when you open it. The first few times I almost lost an eye because I opened quickly and went to reach in - the door 'bounced' from the hinge and came back at my face. In addition, with the door opening only to this point, it doesn't allow much space to reach in on the left side. I wish it opened wider and stayed there. On a personal note and for those just thinking about an 'above the stove' microwave -- keep these points in mind: Reaching above the stove to pull out hot dishes is awkward when the stove is off but even worse when you're cooking things on the stove top. Have a glass top stove? Every time I use the microwave, I worry I'm going to drop the hot dish and smash both that dish and crack the stove. I've replaced our microwave 3 times in 10 years - personally I think the steam from cooking is causing trouble with them being placed directly above the stove. I use the vent but I still think the steam and heat from stove/oven is causing issues. They're expensive - very expensive compared to a $40 counter top microwave. I could have purchased 5 of them for the price of one of these. And really - if you only do heat ups, a vegetable side or popcorn in the microwave -- get a small one that can handle a dinner plate and you're set to go. Less cost, no issue to replace (because these units are not easy or light to replace above the stoves) and they serve the purpose in most cases. Pros: Saves Counterspace Cons: Expensive - Tough to use when using the stove top - heavy and cumbersome to replace

"Sharp" Microwave from IN on 05/17/2015 – Verified Buyer
Pardon the pun. I was looking for a black microwave (matches the oven, fridge, dishwasher) that got good reviews. This one did. I had a Sharp Carousel that I used for 18 years on a daily basis before it stopped working. I thinks it's rare to get that kind of service from anything anymore, especially with daily use. That is as big a reason for buying this microwave as any. Just over two years now and it is still working just fine and it looks good too. If I get close to 18 years out of this one, I couldn't ask for more than that. Pros: What I wanted Cons: None whatsoever

Great product...works well one year later from SOUTH BEACH, OR on 03/16/2015 – Verified Buyer
We've been using this in a cottage for over a year now without any issues. It's the perfect size to fit over our small stove top.

Microwave works well & great size - Beware of flimsy foil-like fan air filters from Hayward, CA on 03/13/2015 – Verified Buyer
Pros- great size, heats well, buttons positioned low on unit for easy reach for fan, light and minute heating. . Cons - fan doesn't work as well as anticpated. Contracter said it is not a strong fan . Flimsly fan filters. One day I placed my hand under the foil-like air fan filter to see if it was working because I could hear the fan & it didn't appear to be working. The filter easly came out and is really flimsy. It's appears to be made of not so strong tin foil to me and bends easily. It's not hard to put back yet I was surprised. The contractor checked out the fan & said it is working. It's the product.
