I have a seward trunk from 1976 that went to college 4 years, has lived in two states and 5 cities and although it is not new looking it has held together beautifully. We actually drove to Petersburg to choose the trunk. The only feature missing were wheels, still regret not choosing that feature. Recently based on personal experience, I purchased 2 trunks for my children and am not thrilled. They appear to be sturdy as in '76, but in both trunks, the screws used to anchor the handles, wheels and legs are protruding into the trunk, rough & uncovered, despite the fact that they are fully lined! All I can picture is torn clothing. I am not at all pleased with this.

I was happy to find a large-sized trunk for my son going off to college. It was attractive. He even liked it. But I was VERY disappointed on the morning that I was leaving for the school and the metal loop (that is intended to hold a padlock to secure the trunk) fell off into my hand. I had to leave right away, there was no time to return it. I felt cheated. I now think that the trunk is not well constructed.

I use one for a costume chest for children to store the costumes when they are not here, it is easy to open and remove costumes and easy to put them away again when the children are gone. I use another to store my seasonal clothing (Summer and Winter). They do not take up as much space as hanging and do not wrinkle as much as stuffing them in boxes. I love these trunks.
