My husband and I have a Tempurpedic mattress and although our son doesn't sleep with us, he has taken a nap or two on it, so we decided to ditch the coil mattress that has been in his crib. We opened the box and there was very little smell of the vinyl and we don't notice it now that we have had it out in the open for a while. The mattress is firm - not too hard and not too soft. It does have a very snug fit into the crib and this is for safety reasons (it actually sticks to the paint of the crib but didn't rip the paint off). Overall, we are happy we bought this mattress since it is more natural and it was at a reasonable price compared to non-"green" mattresses. Was this helpful? Yes / No
