This fixture's quality far exceeds anything you will find in the big box stores. Also, the companion mount base for masonry columns is very strong and solid. My only complaint stems from the finial on top of the fixture. I mounted a pair of these on two brick columns at my drive entryway. The brick has a tumbled finish to simulate old construction, so the bases could not set 100% level. To level the light, I went to a LOT of trouble to drill & tap the bases making the fixture set perfectly level. The finial on the top of the fixture was slightly crooked, so all the extra work I did was in vain. However, it was worth it as the light would withstand a hurricane the way I mounted them. The finials are only very slightly off. The only person that notices is me. I'm a perfectionist though, these lights are a quality product and I would buy them again with pleasure. The companion base from this company is the highest quality I have seen, much recommended if you purchase this product.
