Love this Harp

This piece looks beautiful, sounds beautiful & my one year old granddaughter is obsessed with it. Fiona pulls up the little bench, sits down & starts plucking waiting for us to clap.
Looks good, but that's all that's good

After assembling and tuning the harp (with my guitar tuner), we were soo thrilled to give this to our daughter for her 5th birthday. A harp is all she wanted. Between the 15 minutes from when it was tuned until we gave it to her, all of the strings were out of tune. It seems the tension on the strings can't be kept for longer than a minute or two. It's now to the point that when I start at one end and tune the harp through to the other end, the first end I started with is out of tune. When it's not in tune, the sounds the strings make are not very enjoyable. My daughter really tried to play with this on her birthday, but didn't even get through the day of having it keep her interest, even though it was tuned about 5 time that day (and the tuning process takes about 15 minutes each, that's how out of tune it gets in a short amount of time). This cute little pink harp is now in a corner in our basement, not been used since mid-april. I wish we would have started with a kid's lap harp instead.
Studies show that children who are introduced to music at an early age benefit in many ways and perform better academically. Piano playing develops creativity, enhances motor skills, and promotes social interaction and self-esteem. Schoenhut's patented Learning System, with its play-by-color teaching method, was developed to encourage basic music skills and make playing simple and fun. A removable color strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers from chord to chord. The chart adapts perfectly to full-sized pianos because keys on Schoenhut toy pianos are of corresponding width, thus teaching children proper "finger stretch" from the very beginning and making the transition to a large piano easy. Each toy piano has one to three octaves, depending on the model, compared with seven and a half on an adult piano. The Learning System Songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes.
Demonstrating their durability, longevity, and collectability, Schoenhut vintage toy pianos are featured at a number of prestigious museums and galleries. One such exhibit at Strong Museum in Rochester, NY provides an overview of the company's rich and interesting heritage. For the finest quality toy pianos, complete customer satisfaction, and knowing your investment may become a treasured heirloom, go with the name you can trust: Schoenhut.
